What's new
Flux Foundry 0.5.0-beta.1 — Industrial Logistics
Industrial Logistics is here. Automate your factory with general-purpose Item and Fluid Pipes, directional Extractors, and Wrench-controlled connections.
Added
- Item Pipes
- Connect inventories and machines into automated item networks
- Support branching and looping layouts
- Automatically route around full or rejecting destinations
- Respect machine-sided input and output rules
- Store no hidden items inside the pipe network
- Item Extractors
- Pull items from inventories into Item Pipe networks
- Transfer up to 8 items per operation
- Successful extractions are separated by at least 10 ticks
- Support all six source directions
- Fair routing helps prevent destinations from being permanently starved
- Fluid Pipes
- General-purpose fluid transportation
- Supports standard fluids including Water, Lava, Steam, and Exhaust Steam
- Preserves fluid identity and components
- Supports multiple fluid types safely on the same network
- Stores no hidden fluid inside pipes
- Fluid Extractors
- Pull fluids from tanks into Fluid Pipe networks
- Transfer up to 250 mB/t
- Support all six source directions
- Support exact partial transfers when a destination has limited capacity
- Wrench Logistics Controls
- Rotate Extractor source direction
- Enable or disable individual pipe connections
- Disabled connections are saved across restarts
- Pipe models update to show enabled and disabled connections
Factory Automation
Industrial Logistics works directly with existing Flux Foundry equipment.
Item Pipes can automate:
- Crusher inputs and outputs
- Powered Furnace inputs and outputs
- Alloy Smelter inputs and outputs
Fluid Pipes can automate:
- Water Pump → Boiler
- Condenser → Boiler
- Lava → Geothermal Generator
- Steam and Exhaust Steam through standard fluid capabilities
Steam Pipes remain the recommended high-throughput dedicated option for Steam.
Performance
- Item and Fluid networks use cached topology rather than rediscovering the network every tick.
- Stable 10-pipe, 100-pipe, and branching networks completed their observation windows with zero topology rebuilds and zero discovery work.
- Network discovery is bounded to 4,096 visits per level per tick.
- Pipes and Extractors do not force-load neighboring chunks.
Steam Age Compatibility
The original Steam Age plant remains unchanged.
A second Steam plant using the new Fluid Pipes for Water circulation also completed the canonical cycle:
1,000 mB Steam → 4,000 FE gross → 950 mB Water recovered + 50 mB makeup → 25 FE Pump cost → 3,975 FE net
before Boiler fuel cost.
Compatibility
- Existing 0.4.0-beta.1 worlds upgrade directly to 0.5.0-beta.1.
- Existing power, processing, upgrades, Wind and Steam systems remain available and retain their established behavior.
- Standard NeoForge item, fluid and FE capabilities are used for interoperability.
- No additional technology mod is required.
- JEI remains optional.
Validation
- 90/90 tests passed
- All 69 previous tests retained
- All 41 mandatory logistics failure scenarios covered
- Item/fluid conservation passed
- Packaged graphical client passed
- Real dedicated client/server connection passed
- Production-only dedicated server passed
- Fresh-process persistence passed
- Actual chunk unload/reload passed
- 0.4 save migration passed
- No unresolved S1 or S2 issues
Known Beta Limitations
- No item or fluid filters yet
- No user-defined destination priorities
- No stockkeeping
- No request system
- No autocrafting
- No logistics channels
- No network overview
- No traveling-item animation
- Pipes contain no persistent resources
- Complex unfiltered networks may benefit from separate physical routes until Smart Logistics arrives.
Requires Minecraft 26.3, NeoForge, and Java 25.
