What's new
Federation Of Kaos: Outbreak Protocol 1.18.6
Everything since 1.16.1. Network protocol is unchanged. Update client and server together.
World Infection
- The clock is much slower. World Infection now takes 200 in-game days to reach the Fall (0.5 % a day; config
infectionDaysToFall). Each living Patient Zero makes it 1 % faster, stacking (infectionZedSpeedupPercent). Before, it was about 3 % a day plus 1.5 % per Patient Zero. - In PvE the Wyrm no longer speeds the meter. The infected Ender Dragon only adds its 5 % a day in an Overlord's round, where infecting it takes real work.
- New admin command
/outbreak infectionshows the meter, its stage, the rate per day and days left;/outbreak infection set <0-100>sets it. - Worlds that already saved
infectionDaysToFallin their server config keep that value until it is edited.
Patient Zero
- Putting down a Patient Zero counts as a job at Kaos Hunter's Underground Market. Every survivor close enough to be paid the containment bounty gets one, on top of contracts cleared and missions completed.
Field Chemistry
- Hide Glue: 3 Rotten Flesh + Boiled Water + Bone Meal brews 2 Slime Balls at the Chemistry Station.
- Spoiled Food (Survival Protocol) can stand in for the Brown Mushroom in Penicillin.
- Sulfur from other mods works. Survival Instinct's Sulfur (and anything tagged
forge:gems/sulfur) smelts into Refined Sulfur, makes Tier 1 gunpowder and gives off fumes like Raw Sulfur; 3 Sulfur Dust craft into 1 Raw Sulfur.
Horde behaviour
- Death Bats fly like phantoms: they circle above you and swoop, smash through up to 2 blocks on a dive, and about a third of dives are kamikaze runs that blow a small hole. They sound like phantoms too.
- Hordes undermine pillars and ledges. A horde that can't reach you digs out the blocks you stand on, highest first.
- Spitters fire through cover, and their acid dissolves the block it lands on in one hit.
- A horde that can't reach you calls for help: a Lasher and a Spitter, once per horde.
