Farmer's Future Delight

Farmer's Future Delight is a configurable backport and compatibility foundation for Minecraft Forge 1.12.2. It provides newer vanilla ingredients and gameplay systems used by Farmer's Delight add-ons, while also working as a standalone content and world-generation expansion.

The mod introduces its content through world generation, plant growth, creatures, crafting, and gathering methods instead of simply placing everything in the creative inventory. It does not add a separate cooking system of its own.

Caves & Cliffs World Type

The optional Caves & Cliffs world type expands the Overworld from Y=-64 to Y=319. Standard world types retain the normal Minecraft 1.12.2 height and generation.

This world type includes:

• Modern terrain shaping, aquifers, cave carving, ore distribution, and ore veins.
• Lush Caves and Dripstone Caves as three-dimensional underground biomes.
• Meadow, Grove, Snowy Slopes, Jagged Peaks, Frozen Peaks, and Stony Peaks.
• Deepslate regions, amethyst geodes, copper, calcite, tuff, and modern cave decorations.
• Updated placement and height handling for structures such as mineshafts, villages, and fossils.
• The /locatebiome <biome> command for locating surface and underground biomes.

Backported Content

Farmer's Future Delight includes a broad selection of content from newer Minecraft versions:

• Sweet berries and sweet berry bushes.
• Bees, bee nests, beehives, honey bottles, honeycombs, and related blocks.
• Lush cave plants, including moss, glow berries, azaleas, dripleaves, hanging roots, spore blossoms, and glow lichen.
• Aquatic content, including kelp, seagrass, sea pickles, turtles, turtle eggs, glow squids, and glow ink sacs.
• Crimson and warped forests with their plants, fungi, vines, and complete wood sets.
• Phantoms, goats, axolotls, glow item frames, and their related items and behaviors.
• Deepslate building sets and ores, amethyst, copper and weathering, dripstone, candles, powder snow, lightning rods, chains, tinted glass, spyglasses, goat horns, and the Otherside music disc.

Cross-Mod Raw Ore and Deepslate Ore Compatibility

Farmer's Future Delight includes source-aware raw ore and deepslate ore systems designed to provide a flexible alternative to Raw Ore On 1.12.2 and modern deepslate ore variants.

• Adds raw ore items, raw ore blocks, and compatible deepslate ore variants only when their mapped source ores are available.
• Uses independent per-material controls and optional per-object AUTO avoidance, allowing external providers to take precedence without disabling unrelated materials.
• Integrates raw ores with vanilla smelting, 9:1 compression, 1:9 decompression, Tinkers' Construct melting and casting, and processing recipes from IndustrialCraft 2, Mekanism, Thermal Expansion, Ender IO, Galacticraft, Advanced Rocketry, LibVulpes, Techguns, Thaumcraft, Metallurgy Reforged, Sakura, GregTech CE/CEu, Croparia, Mystical Agriculture, Galaxy Space, and Future MC.
• Deepslate ores inherit the mapped ordinary ore's drops, ore-dictionary entries, smelting results, and supported machine-processing recipes.
• When multiple supported mods provide the same material, Farmer's Future Delight registers one unified deepslate ore while preserving the applicable source generation rules.
• In the Caves & Cliffs world type, deepslate ores generate only in deepslate regions using configurable source-based height ranges, vein sizes, distributions, air-exposure rules, and other generation settings.
• Supports custom raw ore definitions through JSON files in config/farmers_future_delight/custom_raw_ores/, including localized names, resource-pack textures, automatic color extraction, and compatible recipe generation.
• Supports custom deepslate ore definitions through JSON files in config/farmers_future_delight/custom_deepslate_ores/, mapping each deepslate ore to an ordinary ore and selecting from several configurable generation templates.
• Provides /ffd_rawore scan, /ffd_rawore scan all, /ffd_rawore generate, and /ffd_rawore generate all for scanning the loaded modpack environment and generating reviewable raw ore definitions.
• Can migrate saved Raw Ore items and blocks when replacing Raw Ore On 1.12.2 with Farmer's Future Delight.
• Raw ore and raw ore block textures are based on Raw Ore On 1.12.2, with thanks to sui_ke.

Configuration and Compatibility

Most content can be individually enabled, disabled, or set to AUTO in the configuration file. AUTO compatibility is resolved per block, item, and entity, allowing different backport mods to provide different pieces of the same content group without disabling everything else.

Content-provider integration covers mods such as Future MC, Depths Update, Deeper Depths, Caves Not Cliffs, and Oceanic Expanse.

The extended-height world type includes compatibility for Cave Biomes, Depths Update, Caves Not Cliffs, Nothirium, Celeritas/Actinium, Distant Horizons, VoxelMap, Xaero's World Map/Minimap, and YUNG's Better Mineshafts. OptiFine shader compatibility is also included.

In short: Farmer's Future Delight brings ingredients, raw materials, and worlds from the future back to 1.12.2, while other Farmer's Delight add-ons put them on the table.
