Extreme Explosions

Vanilla explosions are a puff of grey smoke. Not any more.

Light a block of TNT, wait for a creeper to get too close, or blow up an end crystal. Extreme Explosions replaces the weak vanilla blast effect with something that looks like it belongs in an action film. The sound stays exactly as it is, because the sound was never the problem.

🔥 What you’ll see

• A blinding flash, followed by a rolling fireball that burns from white-hot to orange to deep red
• Sparks that scatter outward, then fall, plus glowing embers that drift upward
• Flying debris. Chunks of the surrounding blocks are thrown into the air, and some are on fire and leave a smoky trail
• A ground shockwave. A ring of dust races outward, tinted to match the terrain you’re standing on
• A column of thick black smoke that billows out, rises and spreads into a mushroom cap before it fades
• Camera shake when you’re close enough to feel it, but be careful!

📏 Bigger bang, bigger show

Every effect scales with the size of the explosion. A creeper makes a smaller blast than TNT, and an end crystal makes a bigger one.

✅ Details

• Works with TNT, creepers (charged ones too), end crystals, beds exploding in the Nether, ghast fireballs and any modded explosion that uses the vanilla explosion system
• Vanilla explosion behaviour is unchanged. The same blocks break and the same damage is dealt, and underwater explosions still behave as in vanilla. This mod only changes how it looks
• Needs to be installed on the client. It’s optional on a server, but with it installed the effects match the exact explosion size. Without it, every explosion is drawn at TNT size
• Fully configurable. You can adjust the particle density if your game struggles on big blasts, turn camera shake on or off, set the shake strength, and switch debris and lingering smoke on or off
