What is different in this version?
This version is an independently maintained and modernized port of the original mod for Minecraft 26.3 using Fabric.
The project was updated and adapted to work with the modern Minecraft/Fabric ecosystem, including significant changes to compatibility, networking, configuration handling, persistence, commands, mixins, Java compatibility, and server-side validation.
Among the work performed for this version:
- Ported the mod to Minecraft 26.3
- Updated to the modern Fabric Loader / Fabric API
- Updated the project to Java 25
- Migrated outdated Minecraft APIs and mappings
- Updated networking to the current Fabric networking system
- Added server-side validation for Spawner configuration packets
- Improved dedicated server compatibility
- Improved configuration validation and recovery
- Added atomic configuration file saving to reduce the risk of corrupted configuration files
- Added rollback behavior when configuration changes fail to save
- Improved persistence of Spawner Redstone state
- Preserved compatibility with older Spawner data where possible
- Updated and validated Spawner configuration behavior, including range, speed, count, Redstone control, limited spawns, Spawn Eggs, Silk Touch, and other features
- Updated resources and compatibility for the current Minecraft version
The original concept and foundation belong to Branders / Anders Blomqvist. This version focuses on maintaining, modernizing, fixing, and extending compatibility with current Minecraft versions.
FEATURES
Mine Spawners with Silk Touch
Collect Mob Spawners using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch, allowing you to move them instead of permanently losing them when broken.
Recover and Apply Spawn Eggs
Right-click a configured Spawner to recover the Spawn Egg associated with the mob stored inside. Spawn Eggs can also be used to configure which mob a Spawner contains.
Spawn Egg Drops
Mobs with a corresponding Spawn Egg can have a chance to drop their own egg when killed. The default chance is 4% and can be changed in the configuration.
Spawners in Creative Mode
The Mob Spawner block is available in the Creative inventory for building, testing, custom maps, decoration, and farm design.
Configure Spawner Settings
Using the Spawner Key, adjust spawn count, spawn speed, player activation range, and the Spawner's ON/OFF state. Activation range can reach 128 blocks, compared with the vanilla distance of approximately 16 blocks.
Redstone Control
Turn Mob Spawners ON and OFF with Redstone signals for more flexible farms, automation systems, and custom map mechanics.
Limited Spawns
Optionally define how many mobs a Spawner can generate before reaching its configured limit - useful for adventure maps, servers, controlled farms, dungeons, and progression systems.
Custom Default Spawner Range
Configure the default activation range used by Spawners and control how close players must be before a Spawner becomes active.
Custom Spawner Hardness
Customize Spawner block hardness to control how difficult Spawners are to break.
Extensive Configuration
Enable, disable, or customize many behaviors through the configuration file, including Spawn Egg behavior and global Spawner settings.
CONFIGURATION
The current Fabric version stores its configuration at:
<colgroup><col></colgroup>
|
.minecraft/config/spawnermod.json |
Boolean settings: 1 = Enabled, 0 = Disabled
Percentage values: whole numbers from 0 to 100. Example: monster_egg_drop_chance = 4 means a 4% Spawn Egg drop chance.

WHY USE ENHANCED MOB SPAWNERS?
Vanilla Minecraft gives players very little control over Mob Spawners. Enhanced Mob Spawners expands that system while keeping the original mechanics recognizable.
