Learn enchantments from books, unlock them in the enchanting table, and level them up through use. Enchantments can grow past their normal max levels, with support for Apothic Enchanting and other modded setups.

Description
Enchantments & Levelling reworks Minecraft enchanting into a progression system.
Instead of every enchantment being available right away, you learn enchantments from enchanted books. Once learned, those enchantments can appear in the enchanting table. Enchantments can also gain XP through use and level up over time.
Sharpness improves from killing mobs, Efficiency improves from mining, Fortune improves from mining valuable blocks, and other enchantments can grow through experience-based progression.
The mod also increases the max level of many enchantments, letting your gear grow past normal vanilla limits. It includes compatibility with Apothic Enchanting, so higher enchantment caps from that mod can be used too.
It also adds Momentum, a mining enchantment that builds speed while you keep mining.
