EchoBlind transforms Minecraft into a world navigated through sound.
The normal 3D world is hidden in darkness, while expanding echolocation waves temporarily reveal nearby surfaces, ores, creatures, and players. The HUD, inventory, chat, menus, and other interfaces remain visible.

EchoBlind does not add blocks, items, creatures, or world generation. It changes how the existing world is perceived.
Voice Echolocation
Speaking, clapping, or shouting can create an echo automatically. Louder sounds generate larger waves.
When Simple Voice Chat is installed, EchoBlind can place waves at the positions of speaking players. Without it, EchoBlind uses a standalone local microphone mode for your own voice.
EchoBlind immediately reduces audio frames to loudness measurements. It does not record, retain, or retransmit microphone audio.
Multiplayer Editions
Client Edition
Install echoblind-client-1.1.0.jar in each player’s mods folder. It works in singleplayer and on ordinary multiplayer servers.
Server Companion
Server owners may optionally install echoblind-server in the dedicated server’s mods folder alongside Simple Voice Chat.
The companion provides reliable server-assisted multiplayer voice waves, including visual pulses when voice playback is muted.
Do not install both editions in the same mods folder.
Players still need the Client Edition to see EchoBlind visuals. Unmodded players can remain on a server using the companion.
Requirements

- NeoForge 21.1.235 or newer
- Java 21
- Simple Voice Chat 2.6.20 or newer is optional but recommended
All major visual, microphone, pulse, and server settings are configurable.
