Echo Ore is a Minecraft NeoForge mod focused on exploration, mining, resonance-based technology, useful artifacts, decorative building blocks, and a powerful alternative to the vanilla Beacon.

Hidden beneath the world is a rare resource known as Echo Ore. Finding it is only the beginning — its Resonant Shards can be transformed into tools, charms, lighting, decorative blocks, and eventually the powerful Resonator.

Rather than simply adding another ore that exists only to craft armor and tools, Echo Ore gives its resource several different uses throughout progression.

⛏️ Discover Echo Ore

Echo Ore generates underground and can be mined using an Iron Pickaxe or better.

Mining Echo Ore normally rewards you with Resonant Shards, the main resource of the mod.

Resonant Shards are used for:

• Crafting Resonant Blocks

• Powering the Resonator

• Crafting advanced devices

• Crafting and repairing charms

• Decorative building blocks

• Resonance-based lighting

• Upgrading your Resonator setup

⚠️ Echo Shards are NOT Resonant Shards

Minecraft already contains the vanilla Echo Shard found in Ancient Cities.

That is a completely different item.

Vanilla Echo Shard:
minecraft:echo_shard

Echo Ore Resonant Shard:
echoore:resonant_shard

The Resonator requires Resonant Shards, not vanilla Echo Shards.

🔱 The Resonator

The Resonator is one of the main progression goals of Echo Ore.

Think of it as a customizable, resonance-powered alternative to the Beacon.

Unlike a normal Beacon, it does not require a giant mineral pyramid. Instead, you build a resonance structure around it and customize its capabilities using different Echo Ore blocks.

Insert Resonant Shards into the Resonator to activate its field.

When powered, its base field grants:

• Haste III

• Speed II

• Strength II

• Resistance I

• Regeneration I

• Night Vision

The base range is approximately 64 blocks, but a properly developed resonance structure can extend the field up to approximately 128 blocks.

Use the Resonator with an empty hand to check its current status, fuel and upgrades.

⚡ Upgrade Your Resonator

The Resonator becomes significantly more powerful when specific blocks are placed near it.

💎 Resonant Power Upgrade

Place 4 Blocks of Resonant Shards close to the Resonator.

This upgrades:

Haste III → Haste IV

and

Resistance I → Resistance II

This makes a fully upgraded Resonator especially useful for large bases, mining areas and construction projects.

❤️ Regeneration Upgrade

Place 4 Resonant Clusters near the Resonator.

This upgrades:

Regeneration I → Regeneration II

🔥 Fire Resistance Upgrade

Certain resonance-based light sources placed close to an active Resonator unlock:

Fire Resistance

Compatible blocks include:

• Echo Lantern

• Resonant Lantern

• Dark Echo Lamp

• Luminous Crystal

• Resonant Redstone Lamp

A Resonant Redstone Lamp must be powered to contribute to the Resonator.

📡 Expand the Resonance Field

Decorative Resonant blocks aren't purely cosmetic.

Many of them contribute to the Resonator structure and can increase its effective range.

Build your Resonator room using blocks such as:

• Resonant Bricks

• Resonant Tiles

• Polished Resonant Blocks

• Chiseled Resonant Blocks

• Resonant Pillars

• Resonant Mosaic

• Resonant Panels

• Stairs

• Slabs

• Walls

• Other resonance structure blocks

This means your Resonator can become part of an actual functional build instead of sitting on top of a plain resource pyramid.

A developed structure can increase the Resonator's field from roughly 64 blocks up to 128 blocks.

🏃 Functional Building Blocks

Several Resonant building blocks also provide useful effects by themselves.

Walking across selected Resonant surfaces grants:

Speed I

This makes them useful for:

• Base corridors

• Underground transportation tunnels

• Large factories

• Storage rooms

• Mining bases

• Long pathways

• Decorative floors that actually have a purpose

The goal is to make Echo Ore building materials more than recolored decorative blocks.

🎵 Tuning Fork

The Tuning Fork is your first resonance detection tool.

Right-click it to listen for nearby Echo Ore.

It can detect Echo Ore within approximately:

8 blocks

Instead of giving you exact coordinates, the fork responds with different messages depending on how close the resonance is.

You may receive messages such as:

• A distant echo

• A faint echo

• A strong resonance

• No echo nearby

Use the feedback to narrow down the ore's location.

The Tuning Fork has a short cooldown to prevent constant spam.

💠 Resonant Tuning Fork

The Resonant Tuning Fork is the advanced version of the regular Tuning Fork.

Its Echo Ore detection range is increased to approximately:

16 blocks

But it has another special ability.

Sneak + Right Click

The Resonant Tuning Fork can search for valuable vanilla ores, including:

• 💎 Diamond

• 🟢 Emerald

• 🟡 Gold

This makes Resonant Shards valuable even after you already have enough resources to construct a Resonator.

🌙 Echo Charm

The Echo Charm is a reusable exploration artifact.

Activate it to receive:

Night Vision for 60 seconds

It then enters a cooldown before it can be used again.

The charm can be repaired using Resonant Shards.

It is useful for:

• Cave exploration

• Ancient Cities

• Deep mining

• Large underground builds

• Exploring without carrying large numbers of potions

⛏️ Mining Charm

The Mining Charm is designed specifically for miners.

Activate it to receive:

Haste I for 30 seconds

The charm has limited durability/uses and can be repaired using Resonant Shards.

It provides an intermediate progression option before constructing a fully powered Resonator.

💡 Resonance Lighting

Echo Ore contains several unique light sources designed to fit the cyan, dark-blue and purple resonance aesthetic.

Examples include:

• Echo Lantern

• Resonant Lantern

• Dark Echo Lamp

• Luminous Crystal

• Resonant Redstone Lamp

Some of these blocks aren't only decorative — they can interact with the Resonator and unlock additional field effects.
