🌾 Earth & Root

Grow, cook, brew and protect your farm.

Earth & Root adds new crops, kitchen blocks and a small hay golem that works the fields for you. Everything is explained in the in-game guide book.

🍅 Crops

• Tomato: plant tomato seeds; the stake is only decoration.
• Onion and cabbage: plant their seeds on farmland, like carrots.
• Rice: grows on tilled clay or mud, or under water. Wild rice grows in shallow swamp water.
• Corn: a two-block-tall plant.
• Grapes: a bush you can harvest again and again.

🍎 Fruit trees

Leaves show their fruit: oak gives apples, cherry gives cherries and spruce gives pine cones. Trees you chop fall over sideways.

🎃 Hay Golem

Put a carved pumpkin on a hay bale. The golem is one block tall, harvests and replants crops (berries and grapes too) within 16 blocks of a harvest chest, runs from monsters and throws rotten tomatoes at rats and foxes. Some villages already have one.

🍲 Kitchen

• Oven: burns coal or any furnace fuel. Roasted onion and the berry and cherry pies are oven-only.
• Cooking pot: soups, rice dishes and jams. Place it on a lit oven.
• Fermentation barrel: wines, cider and beer. Also works on top of the oven.
• Cookie jar and market stall to sell your produce to villagers.

🐀 Pests

Rats and foxes raid your fields. Protect them, or let the golem do it.

🌍 Languages

English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese and Korean.

🧩 Compatibility

• Recipes appear in JEI, and Jade shows crop growth and machine progress.
• With Ranch Life, the cooking pot makes curd, yogurt, duck rice, chanfana and meat stew.
• All three mods are optional.
