📖 What is this mod?

Tired of Minecraft becoming a walk in the park after the first few days? Dynamic Difficulty completely transforms the game's challenge by introducing a seamless, ever-evolving scaling system. As you play, survive, and conquer, the world grows stronger with you.

Unlike other difficulty mods that just give mobs boring health boosts, this mod makes them Smarter, Better Equipped, and Magically Empowered. Mobs will learn to break blocks to reach you, use shields, cast spells, and even fire guns! Best of all, it features an incredibly powerful In-Game GUI that lets you tweak absolutely everything without ever touching a config file.


🎮 How to Play (Quick Tutorial)

This mod is designed to be plug-and-play, but here is what you need to know to survive:

  • Configurations: Its best to configure the mod first in case you didn't like something there is always an option to change it, the entire mod is build around configurations.
  • The Progression: Your personal "Level" increases over time, and when you kill monsters. If you die, you lose levels. The higher your level, the harder the mobs around you become.
  • Press 'O' (Default): This opens the massive Stats & Configuration Dashboard. Here you can view your current level, see projected mob stats, and even simulate mob fights!
  • Target HUD: Targets nearest mob to see its Level, Rarity, HP, Equipment, and magical abilities via a sleek RPG-style HUD, while Jade is supported as well with same exact style but more info.
  • The Warding Lantern: Is a specific area too hard? Craft a Warding Lantern! When placed, this block violently pushes dynamic mobs away, creating a safe zone for your base.

🌟 Deep Feature Breakdown

Everything in this mod is dynamically calculated. Here is what is waiting for you in the shadows:

📈 Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM)

Minecraft now watches how you play! If you are dealing massive damage and tearing through enemies, the SBMM System will temporarily multiply your difficulty level to match your skill. If you are taking heavy damage and struggling, the game will temporarily ease up to give you breathing room.

this setting can be turned off and configured however you like. 

 

🧠 Smart AI

  • Block Breaking & Pillaring: High-level mobs won't just stand at walls. They will mine through weak blocks (like dirt/wood) or place cobblestone to bridge gaps and pillar up to your skybase!
  • Gap Jumping & Melee Leaps: Mobs will sprint and jump over ravines, and melee mobs will violently lunge at you from 6 blocks away.
  • Advanced Shield Tactics: Mobs can spawn with shields. They will perfectly block incoming arrows, and if you get too close, they will Shield Bash you away!
  • Bow Strafing & Multishot: Skeletons will kite you, strafe side-to-side, and at high levels, shoot shotgun-style arrow volleys.

✨ Elite Boss Traits

High-tier mobs have a chance to spawn with terrifying elite abilities:

  • 🔥 Pyros Aura: Ignites the ground and players in a radius around the mob.
  • 👁️ Phase Shifter (Ender Blink): The mob will rapidly teleport to dodge attacks when at low health.
  • 🛡️ Static Dynamo: Deflects and heavily reduces incoming projectile damage.
  • 🩸 Blood Siphon: Heals the mob for a percentage of the damage they deal to you.
  • 💨 Sonic Gale: Applies massive knockback on every hit.

⚔️ Unprecedented Mod Compatibility

This mod bridges the gap between Minecraft's most popular combat mods, allowing mobs to use them against you dynamically:

  • 🔫 Timeless and Classics Zero (TACZ): Mobs can spawn as Gunners! They will aim, shoot, reload, and most importantly: seek block cover when reloading or at low health! Weapon types dictate how they fight (Snipers stay back, Shotguns rush you).
  • 🧙‍♂️ Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks: Mobs can spawn as Mages. They manage their own Mana, cast attack, healing, and buff spells dynamically, and will kite you to stay at optimal spell range.
  • 💎 Apotheosis: Mobs will spawn with Affix-tiered armor and weapons, complete with pre-socketed Gems that scale to their level!

Equipments

Mobs get equipments dynamically and randomly depending on their levels, no item is hardcoded the mod uses the items registry to take out all the equipments in the modpack and the game to use them on the mobs, items are sorted based on their power and defence, so a low level mob doesnt have netherite armors, same is true for the guns and the magics, while having equipment doesnt effect the mob too much since they mostly use the attributes for defence and damage, so yeah if you have a huge modpack with dozen of weapons and armors they will reflect on the mobs variety. 

 

 

⚔️ Mob Infighting (Free-For-All)

When the world gets too chaotic, enemies might turn on each other! Based on your configuration, mobs have a chance to become hostile to other monster factions, creating massive battlefield brawls (Bosses and same-factions are excluded to keep it fair). configurable

🛑 Anti-Cheese Mechanics

To prevent infinite AFK XP farming, Vanilla Spawners will now exhaust themselves after a configurable amount of time. Mobs also drop dynamically scaled XP, meaning a Level 100 Zombie might drop the same XP as a vanilla boss!


⚙️ The Ultimate In-Game Config GUI

Forget editing JSON files. Pressing 'O' opens a beautifully tabbed menu built for Server Admins and Modpack Makers. From here you can:

  • Change Health, Damage, Speed, and Armor scaling modifiers globally.
  • Enable or disable specific AI traits (turn off block-breaking if it ruins your world).
  • Targeting & Blacklists: A built-in registry viewer allows you to whitelist/blacklist exact entity IDs, or entire Mod namespaces with a single click.
  • Entity Simulator: Want to know how hard a Level 50 Creeper is? Type its ID in the calculator tab, hit "Simulate", and the GUI will spawn a 3D model of the mob right on your screen, showing you its exact HP, damage, speed, and abilities!

⚠️ Important Notes

This mod fundamentally changes entity AI and rendering.
- Server settings in the GUI are locked to Server Operators (OPs) only.
- Be careful when enabling block-breaking for mobs in highly customized modpacks.
- The mod includes built-in render fixes (GeckoLib visual hiders) to prevent crashes when highly animated modded mobs try to hold TACZ guns or Spellbooks.

- I have only tested the mod for a month but there should no problems for version 1.0.0, and don't worry since this is made for modpacks any crash or issues can be fixed through the configurations easily.

- I cant add Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks into the dependency list, just know its optional and supported.
