What's new

[1.0.2]

Added

  • Monsters with a printed Special Summon condition now have a "Special Summon" option in your hand: Chaos Emperor Dragon, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Chaos Sorcerer, Spirit of Flames, Aqua Spirit, The Rock Spirit, Garuda the Wind Spirit, Soul of Purity and Light, Gigantes, Silpheed, Inferno, Fenrir, Cyber Dragon, Elemental HERO Bubbleman, Guardian Grarl, Dark Sage, Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, Vampire Genesis, Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Sorcerer of Dark Magic, Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia. The game checks the condition and pays the cost.
  • Dark Necrofear (banish 3 Fiends from your Graveyard) can now actually be Special Summoned from your hand the way its text says. Megarock Dragon (a Rock-Type) now lets you choose how many Rock monsters to banish, and its ATK and DEF are 700 for each.
  • Card text now follows the years: a card shows the wording that was printed in the era you are playing, and changes when Konami reworded it. A 2002 duel shows the 2002 Toon Mermaid and Time Wizard, a 2005 duel shows the 2005 ones, and later eras show the newer wording. The card viewer, deck builder and ban list use the era of your duel (or your highest unlocked era outside a duel). About 80 cards have their full printing history so far; the rest keep their single text until they are audited.
  • A "Responsive UI Scale" option in Settings (on by default). The mod's screens now pick their size from your window instead of staying one size, and your own GUI Scale comes back when you leave them.
  • New players now get a pop-up a few seconds after joining that tells them which key opens the mod, until they choose a starter deck.
  • Player trading. The Card Market has a new TRADE tab listing the players who are online. Send a request, the other player gets a pop-up and can accept or decline, and both of you then see a trade window. Each of you adds cards (any copies above the 3 you keep of each card) and Duel Points, then you both lock your offers and confirm. Changing an offer clears the locks, and Confirm unlocks a few seconds after the last change so nobody can swap an offer at the last moment. Nothing moves unless both confirm, and if anything goes wrong the whole trade is put back. You cannot trade while in a duel, a Duel Table room, or a tournament. The TRADE tab also shows your last 20 trades and a switch to turn incoming requests off, and server operators can read recent trades with /dmm tradelog [player].

Fixed

  • Fusion Summon sometimes did nothing after you picked the right materials. The game now looks at your Extra Deck and the exact cards you picked, so it always finds the Fusion Monster you can actually summon. If two Fusion Monsters share a recipe (Super Robolady and Super Roboyarou) you now choose which one. Picking more cards than the recipe needs is refused with a message instead of wasting them, a Fusion Summon is now possible with a full field when a field material frees its own zone, and the same card can no longer be counted twice. Cards that stop Spells (Imperial Order, Spell Canceller, Cold Wave and the rest) now stop Polymerization too, and the AI tries every Fusion Monster it can make instead of only the first it finds.
  • The AI tribute summoned Great Moth, ignoring its summoning conditions. About 15 other Special Summon only monsters (Mirage Knight, Berserk Dragon, Dark Necrofear, Horus LV8, Armed Dragon LV7, Silent Swordsman LV3, Ultimate Insect LV3 and more) could be Normal Summoned, Set or Tribute Summoned the same way. All of them are now refused, and the AI no longer tries.
  • Card text that had drifted from the real cards is corrected: The Creator, Tyranno Infinity (no summoning restriction), Silent Swordsman LV3 (can be Normal Summoned, and negates Spell effects that target it), Ultimate Insect LV3 and LV7 (can be summoned normally, and only shrink your opponent's monsters when Special Summoned by the previous Level) and Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth (6th turn or later). The Creator's effect now lets you pick the card you send from your hand.
  • A monster Special Summoned from the other player's Graveyard (Monster Reborn) now returns to its owner's hand when it is bounced, such as by Wall of Illusion, instead of the hand of whoever controlled it.
  • A monster that can attack directly while the other side has monsters now plays the direct attack animation and the damage that goes with it, not an attack on a monster.
  • A destroyed monster no longer vanishes from the field for a moment before it is sent to the Graveyard, and neither does an Equip Spell or Premature Burial that goes with it. A face-down monster destroyed in battle is now flipped face-up before it is sent to the Graveyard.
  • The Graveyard and other card viewer popups no longer let the last cards spill out of the window when there are many cards.
  • The response window text (Castle Walls and other Damage Step responses) now wraps inside its box.
  • A long deck name or player name in the duel intro now stretches the name plate to fit.
  • Dark Sage could be summoned any time you controlled a Time Wizard. It now works like the real card: after a successful Time Wizard coin toss you may Tribute a Dark Magician to Special Summon Dark Sage from your hand or Deck, and you choose its Battle Position.
  • Vampire Genesis banished nothing: its summon cost is now banishing a Vampire Lord (it was a Tribute), and its effect now discards a Zombie, then Special Summons a Zombie from your Graveyard with a lower Level than the discarded one. You choose both cards.
  • Master Monk is now Special Summoned from your hand by Tributing a Monk Fighter, as printed. It could previously be Tribute Summoned instead, which its card does not allow.
  • Toon Monsters: a Set Toon World that is destroyed no longer destroys your Toons, and only face-up Toons are destroyed when a face-up Toon World is. Toon Mermaid, Toon Summoned Skull, Manga Ryu-Ran and Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon can attack directly (unless the opponent controls a Toon) even without Toon World, such as after Monster Reborn. The "Attack directly" choice now appears for every Toon that can. A Level 5 or higher Toon can be Special Summoned with a full field, since its Tributes free the zone. Toon Summoned Skull now counts as an Archfiend, and you choose the card Toon Table of Contents adds.
  • Toon Mermaid, Toon Summoned Skull, Manga Ryu-Ran and Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon now follow their era. In 2002 and 2003 their card says they cannot be summoned unless Toon World is on the field, so they are Normal or Tribute Summoned (and Flip Summoned) while Toon World is out on either side, and can be Set without it. From 2004 on they cannot be Normal Summoned or Set and are Special Summoned from your hand while you control Toon World, as before. The 500 Life Point attack cost, attacking directly unless the opponent has a Toon, and being destroyed with Toon World are the same in every era.
  • Card text that was a loose paraphrase now reads exactly as printed on about 40 cards, including Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon, Manga Ryu-Ran, Toon Mermaid, Toon Summoned Skull, Toon Defense, Toon Gemini Elf, Toon Masked Sorcerer, Dark Sage, Vampire Genesis, Master Monk, Mirage Knight, Berserk Dragon, Exodia Necross, Terrorking Archfiend, Chaos Emperor Dragon, Fenrir, Gigantes, Silpheed, Inferno, Chaos Sorcerer, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Valkyrion the Magna Warrior, Lava Golem, Archlord Zerato, Mazera DeVille, Theinen the Great Sphinx, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Sorcerer of Dark Magic, Horus LV8, Water Dragon and the four Familiar-Possessed.
  • The AI no longer flips Call of the Haunted for a weak monster such as Leghul when it has nothing to attack with. A monster that attacks directly is also only counted as a bonus when you have monsters on your side.
  • Mirage Knight was banished every End Phase. It is now banished only if it attacked or was attacked that turn.
  • Time Wizard now really destroys the monsters (equips, triggers and protections apply), and a failed toss costs half the ATK the destroyed monsters had on the field.
  • Chaos Sorcerer and Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning now banish monsters properly (equips and linked cards are cleaned up). Both can be used in your Battle Phase, and Chaos Sorcerer in 2004 as well, as that wording says. Black Luster Soldier's second attack now exists: when it destroys a monster by battle you choose whether to use its once-per-turn effect to attack again.
  • Berserk Dragon's 2003 and 2004 text, which stops it attacking directly after attacking monsters, now applies in those eras. Armed Dragon LV7 now compares the ATK a monster has now, not its printed ATK.
  • Cocoon of Evolution: Larvae Moth, Great Moth and Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth now come from your hand (they appeared from nowhere), on the 2nd, 4th and 6th turn since Petit Moth was equipped, counting the turn it was equipped. You choose whether to evolve and which Moth, and the new Moth can attack right away.
  • Aqua Spirit and Garuda the Wind Spirit no longer change the first monster automatically: their controller chooses whether to use the effect and which face-up monster. The End Phase now waits for that answer.
  • Dark Necrofear: you choose the monster it equips to at the End Phase, the monster really changes sides while it is equipped, and it returns when Dark Necrofear leaves.
  • Archlord Zerato, Mazera DeVille, Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon and Metalzoa could not be Special Summoned at all. Zerato and Mazera are summoned from your hand by Tributing a Warrior of Zera (with The Sanctuary in the Sky or Pandemonium out), Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon and Metalzoa from your Deck by Tributing a Red-Eyes B. Dragon or Zoa that has Metalmorph. You choose which monster to Tribute. Mazera DeVille makes the opponent discard 3 random cards, and you choose the LIGHT monster Zerato discards.
  • Special Summons that banish monsters from your Graveyard (Spirit of Flames, Aqua Spirit, The Rock Spirit, Garuda, Soul of Purity and Light, Gigantes, Silpheed, Inferno, Fenrir, Chaos Emperor Dragon, Chaos Sorcerer, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Dark Necrofear) now let you choose which monsters to banish.
  • Fushioh Richie: its flip effect lets you choose the Zombie (or none) and its Battle Position, and it can flip itself into face-down Defense Position once per turn.
  • Chaos Emperor Dragon now also sends the Field Zone card, and sends monsters properly instead of removing them silently.
  • Special Summons that Tribute or banish a monster you control (Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Sorcerer of Dark Magic, Master Monk, Vampire Genesis) now let you click the monsters to pay with, and work with a full field.
  • Time Wizard now has the "call Heads or Tails" step. In 2002 it can be used in any phase of your turn.
  • Exodia Necross is destroyed the moment a piece leaves your Graveyard, not only in the Standby Phase.
  • Gate Guardian and Valkyrion can Tribute Set Magnet Warriors and Gate monsters, and Valkyrion needs three free zones to bring its Magnet Warriors back.
  • Winged Kuriboh LV10 is now used from your opponent's Battle Phase by Tributing it, destroying their Attack Position monsters for their original ATK in damage.
  • Dark Necrofear only triggers when your opponent's card destroys it, and The Creator can no longer revive monsters that cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard.
  • Gearfried the Swordmaster destroyed another monster every time any chain resolved while it was equipped. It now triggers once per Equip Card, and you choose the monster.
  • Spirit of the Pharaoh lets you choose which Zombies to bring back (up to 4) and their Battle Positions, and you can stop early. Elegant Egotist lets you choose between Harpie Lady Sisters and Harpie Lady.
  • Theinen the Great Sphinx now asks you before paying 500 Life Points to Special Summon itself when Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia are destroyed together.
  • The Creator Incarnate Tributes itself properly and you choose The Creator's Battle Position. Super Robolady and Super Roboyarou need the other one in your Extra Deck, and clean up their equips when they return.
  • The AI now Special Summons Dark Necrofear, Megarock Dragon and the Spirit monsters (Spirit of Flames, Aqua Spirit, The Rock Spirit, Garuda) from its hand when it can pay their cost.
  • In 2002 and 2003 the four true Toons can no longer be revived (Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, Soul Resurrection, The Creator) unless Toon World is on the field, and a Set Toon stops another Toon attacking directly in 2002. From 2004 only a face-up Toon does.
  • Silent Swordsman LV7 now really negates every Spell on the field: Field Spell and Equip Spell bonuses stop, and Continuous Spells (Messenger of Peace, Jam Breeding Machine, Dark Door and the rest) stop working while it is face-up. They come back when it leaves. A Continuous, Equip or Field Spell can still be placed while it is out, but a Normal, Quick-Play or Ritual Spell cannot be activated. Toon World stays out of this so Toons keep their summoning condition.
  • Wall of Illusion follows its wording: in 2002 to 2004 the attacker is returned to its owner's hand and is never destroyed by the damage calculation, and from 2005 it is returned after damage calculation only if it survives.

Changed

  • The duel log now says "declares an attack on X with Y" when a battle begins, and "declares a direct attack with Y" for a direct attack.
  • Deck Preview is now laid out as three framed sections (Main Deck, Extra Deck and Side Deck) on one screen. The Save Screenshot button is gone; press H to hide the buttons and F2 to take a screenshot.
