DRS UI redesigns Minecraft's item tooltips and adds two screens for reading item and effect details at a glance.
Item tooltips
- Tooltip frames styled by rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic.
- Enchantments and attributes grouped into compact sections.
- What other mods add to a tooltip, such as the mob a Mob Grinding Utils swab holds, in the mod's own colors. A long list is cut to a few rows until you hold Shift, which also shows what mods such as Productive Bees keep for Shift, like a caged bee's productivity and temper.
- Enchantment levels shown in Roman (I, II, III) or Arabic (1, 2, 3) numerals, set in
config/drs-ui-client.toml.
Item inspector
Hold Shift over an item for a moment to open its details; the tooltip fills a bar while you hold. The details show the item type, the mod it comes from, its attributes, durability and item ID, everything other mods add to its tooltip, such as Silent Gear's material hint or a caged bee's traits, and every enchantment with its level and maximum level. Notable vanilla items, such as the Elytra, the Totem of Undying, and the Mace, include a short explanation of what they do.
Active effect viewer
Instead of a row of effect icons, one small button shows the number of active effects: in the bottom right corner while you play, and beside your inventory, on its left so it stays clear of JEI. Press Shift+H, or click the button in your inventory, to see each effect's level, remaining time, and description. Descriptions come from the effect's own mod under any of the keys mods use, such as Ars Nouveau's and Corail Tombstone's, and an effect without one lists what it changes, such as "+20% Healing Received".
Refined Storage search tabs
With Refined Storage installed, every grid, including crafting and pattern grids, gets browser-style search tabs. Keep several searches open and switch back without retyping.
- Click a tab, or press Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+5, to switch searches.
- + or Ctrl+T opens a tab; ×, middle-click, or Ctrl+W closes one.
- On macOS, use Cmd instead of Ctrl, except for Ctrl+Tab.
Search tabs are available on Minecraft 26.1.2 and 1.21.1, the versions Refined Storage supports. With a dark mode such as Dark Mode Everywhere, the tabs darken along with the grid.
Small fixes
Apotheosis' Gem Case and Farming for Blockheads' Market no longer focus their search field when opened, so E still closes them.
Details
- Client-side only; servers don't need it.
- English and Vietnamese translations.
- Change the key that opens the details in the Controls menu, for example from Shift to Ctrl+E so Shift stays with mods such as Productive Bees, and set how long to hold it in
config/drs-ui-client.toml, where 0 opens the details as soon as it is pressed. Shift+H can be changed in Controls too. The defaults stay clear of the keys large packs such as All the Mods 10 use. - Move the effects button to another corner, or hide it while playing, with
effects.hudCornerinconfig/drs-ui-client.toml. In a container screen it takes the first free place left of, above, right of, or below the panel, and JEI's item list makes room for it. - Other mods can add entries to tooltips and the inspector through a client API.
