What's new

v1.0.2:
- First release for Forge. Same features as Dynamic Render Distance 1.0.2 for Fabric.
- Sodium is no longer required. Without Sodium, DRD now changes the rendered distance without reloading the chunks: no flicker.
- Your own render distance is never changed. DRD only limits the distance that is drawn, then brings it back up to yours.
- Reads your real FPS cap: VSync (screen refresh rate), framerate limit, minimized or unfocused window.
- New Target FPS and Tolerance settings. The drop follows how far the FPS are below the target and glides one chunk at a time; the distance comes back one chunk at a time.
- Pauses while the game itself limits the FPS (minimized, not focused, loading screen).
- Settings are in Video Settings, also opened by the Config button of the mod list.
- With Sodium or Embeddium, DRD drives their renderer when it recognises it; otherwise it leaves the distance alone instead of risking a flicker.
