Most music mods hand you one playlist on a loop. DMZ Faulconer Score does something different: it watches what's happening in Dragon Mine Z and scores it in real time — quiet exploring music on the road, a character's theme when you meet them, battle music when a fight breaks out, and a full-blown boss theme the moment a real saga villain shows up. It's the difference between having music playing and having a soundtrack.

Warning: This is also required on the server to work the music will not work unless both client and server have it

🧭 How it works

Every second or so, the mod checks the situation around you and picks the music that fits, in priority order — so the most dramatic thing happening always wins:

  1. 🌍 Where you are — each dimension has its own area music (Overworld, Namek, Otherworld, the Sacred Kai Planet, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber), and coastal/island areas get a lighter theme.
  2. 🧑 Who's nearby — a major saga character (Piccolo, Goku, King Kai, Trunks, Vegeta) plays music tied to them.
  3. ⚔️ Combat — an enemy targeting you brings in battle music.
  4. 👊 A saga boss — a real main-story or movie boss nearby takes over with dedicated boss-battle music.
  5. 🐉 A summoned dragon — Shenron or Porunga appearing is the rarest, biggest moment, and gets the dragon theme.

Each mood lingers for a moment after its trigger goes away, so the music doesn't stutter on and off while you move around — and transitions fade smoothly instead of cutting.

✨ Features

👊 Real boss battle music — for the real bosses

Main saga and movie bosses — Raditz through Kid Buu, Broly, Cooler, the movie villains — get their own boss theme, distinct from ordinary combat music, the instant one is near you. Grunt-tier enemies like Saibamen and Frieza soldiers deliberately don't trigger it, so the boss theme stays reserved for moments that earn it. A server admin can fine-tune exactly which enemies count as a boss.

⏳ Combat music that knows when to stop

When a fight ends, battle music won't immediately retrigger for the next stray mob — it takes a short breather (a few minutes, configurable) so back-to-back skirmishes don't turn into a wall of nonstop battle music. Boss music is exempt: a real boss always gets its due.

🔀 Variety, and no lost place

Each situation shuffles through its own tracks — you get variety, and never the same song twice in a row. And if a fight interrupts your exploring music, that track picks back up where it left off when the fight's over, instead of restarting from the top.

🎚️ Plays nicely with your game

Fades in and out between tracks, quiets Minecraft's own background music while it's in control, and gives control right back at the main menu. Every part of it — track lists, volumes, fade timing, how far away enemies are detected, cooldowns — is configurable, and the whole thing can be switched off.

⚙️ Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge
  • Dragon Mine Z and its dependencies — this is an addon for it and won't do anything on its own.

The music-detection brain runs server-side; the music itself plays client-side. On a multiplayer server, install it server-side for detection to work for everyone; each player hears the music on their own client.

🎼 About the music

The soundtrack is the classic Dragon Ball Z battle score in the style made famous by Bruce Faulconer — the sound most Western fans grew up with. This is a fan-made addon for a fan-made mod, put together for the love of the show; all music remains the property of its original composers and rights holders.
