Description
# Diamond Hoppers
Give your storage system a simple upgrade. Diamond Hoppers adds **wood, gold, diamond and netherite hoppers** with the familiar vanilla shape, five inventory slots, and a clear crafting progression.
Start with an inexpensive wooden hopper, then upgrade through gold and diamond to netherite for **up to 8x vanilla transfer speed**.
## Pick your speed
| Hopper | Transfer interval | Items per second |
| Wood | 12 ticks | 1.67 |
| Vanilla iron | 8 ticks | 2.5 |
| Gold | 4 ticks | 5 |
| Diamond | 2 ticks | 10 |
| Netherite | 1 tick | 20 |
Wood is the affordable starter: it moves about **33% fewer items per second than vanilla**. The vanilla iron hopper stays unchanged. Rates assume 20 game ticks per second, available items, and an unblocked destination; connected inventories can limit a chain's throughput.
## Familiar hopper behavior
- Vanilla hopper geometry with oak, gold, diamond and netherite material textures.
- Five inventory slots and one-item inventory transfers.
- Collect dropped items and pull from containers above.
- Output downward or horizontally, just like vanilla.
- Redstone locking, comparator output, custom names and saved inventories.
- Recipe-book unlocks and all four tiers in the Redstone creative tab.
The higher tiers use faster timing, so redstone sorters and contraptions may need adjustment.
## Requirements and installation
- Minecraft Java Edition **26.2 or 26.3**.
