Description
Diamond Anvils
Give your workshop an upgrade. **Diamond Anvils** adds **Gold, Diamond and Netherite Anvils** with the familiar vanilla shape, lower XP costs and a clear crafting progression.
Gold and Diamond make everyday repairs cheaper and reduce wear. The ultimate upgrade is a **Netherite Anvil that never wears out from use or falling**, with a maximum operation cost of **128 levels** and a recipe that demands a serious investment.
## Choose your upgrade
| Anvil | XP cost reduction | Maximum operation cost | Wear chance per use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanilla iron | None | 39 levels | 12% |
| Gold | 25% | 39 levels | 6% |
| Diamond | 50% | 39 levels | 3% |
| Netherite | 75% | 128 levels | Never |
XP costs round up, with a minimum of one level for a valid operation. The maximum applies **after the discount**. Only Netherite raises the operation limit: **128 levels is allowed; 129 is blocked**. Rename-only operations retain the vanilla 39-level cap.
## Familiar anvil behavior
- Repair damaged tools and armor, combine compatible enchantments, and rename items.
- Keep vanilla enchantment compatibility, maximum enchantment levels, repair materials and prior-work penalties.
- Gold and Diamond each have pristine, chipped and damaged stages.
- Netherite never chips or breaks through use or falling; it resists explosions, and its dropped item resists fire and lava.
- Mine and relocate your anvils. Gold requires an iron-or-better pickaxe; Diamond and Netherite require diamond-or-better.
- Tooltips show the XP discount, maximum cost and wear behavior.
- Recipes appear in the recipe book; all seven anvil variants appear in the Functional Blocks creative tab.
## Crafting progression
**Gold Anvil:** surround a pristine vanilla anvil with **8 gold ingots**.
**Diamond Anvil:** surround a pristine Gold Anvil with **8 diamonds**.
**Netherite Anvil:** combine **4 netherite blocks, 3 netherite ingots, 1 nether star and 1 pristine Diamond Anvil** in a crafting table:
```text
Netherite Block | Nether Star | Netherite Block
Netherite Ingot | Diamond Anvil | Netherite Ingot
Netherite Block | Netherite Ingot | Netherite Block
```
That is **39 netherite ingots' worth of netherite material**, plus the star and Diamond Anvil. There is no cheaper smithing alternative.
