DEUF Refabricated Continued

Fixes "UUID of added entity already exists" and keeps both entities. Server-side Fabric mod for 26.3 and 1.21.4 to 1.21.11.

Runs on: Minecraft 26.3, 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.8, 1.21.5 and 1.21.4 on Fabric. No Fabric API needed. Older versions: the original DEUF Refabricated covers Fabric up to 1.21.3. NeoForge and Forge: use the DEUF projects for those loaders. Each file was tested on a real dedicated server, next to a control boot without the mod.

Your log fills with "UUID of added entity already exists", and something in the world is quietly gone. Two entities have ended up with the same UUID, usually after a crash, a world edit or a mod copying an entity. When the second one loads, vanilla writes that warning and leaves it out of the world. This mod gives the second entity a new UUID instead, so it loads like any other and the warning stops. Both copies stay, and the new UUID is saved with the world.

Drop the jar in mods/ on the server; players install nothing and join with a normal client. Players are never touched, and /summon with a UUID that is in use is still refused as in vanilla.

This is a continuation of DEUF Refabricated by ElocinDev (MIT, about 16 million CurseForge and 5 million Modrinth downloads, last released in June 2024 for up to 1.21.3), itself a Fabric port of DEUF by CAS-ual-TY, ported to the versions after it with full credit; the original authors are not involved. Original project: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/deuf-refabricated . One real change: the original hooked the point where new entities are added, which entities read back from a chunk never reach. This version hooks the point every server-side entity passes through, so it covers those too. The original licence and a notice listing every change are inside the jar.

  • config/deuf_refabricated.json, same file and key as the original: enable_logging prints a line for each entity it changes. Off by default. Edits apply without a restart
  • A broken config file only logs a warning

What the tests showed on each file: a real duplicate was built on disk, one entity saved in an unloaded chunk and a second with the same UUID loaded elsewhere, then the first chunk loaded. Without the mod the warning appears and the entity is missing. With it, a pig and an armor stand both load, the one already in the world keeps its UUID, the other gets a new one, and there is no warning. The new UUID survives a restart with nothing left to change. A player leaving and rejoining keeps their UUID.

Not tested: singleplayer and a real game client. Entities added fresh by other mods with a duplicate UUID go through the same code, but no vanilla command reaches that path, so it was not exercised. Mobs that remember another entity by UUID (a tamed pet's owner, a leash) keep pointing at the original.

Compatibility: Minecraft 26.3 (Java 25) and 1.21.4 to 1.21.11 (Java 21) with Fabric Loader; pick the file for your version. Do not install it next to the original. Licence: MIT, continued from DEUF Refabricated by ElocinDev with the original licence and a notice of every change in the jar.
