Deep Dark Rising
Something beneath your world is beginning to wake.
Deep underground, sculk is growing. Infected caves and rifts reach the surface, releasing creatures that attack living beings. Around catalysts, every death can feed the spreading corruption.
What first appeared to be a strange underground material slowly reveals its true nature: a vast organism capable of defending itself.
A Threat That Fights Back
Hearts pulse, creatures gather and sculk expands its territory. Burning an infected area can slow its growth, but it can also trigger retaliation. Attacking a heart may awaken its defenders.
You can fight, purify and contain the corruption… or learn to cultivate it and harness its resources.
You Are Not Alone
Fortified villages stand against the infection. Behind their walls, an allied faction prepares expeditions to clear contaminated areas. Its fighters carry fire-enchanted weapons, supported by iron golems and ravagers.
But sculk will not let them advance unchallenged.
The Depths Hide a Passage
Ancient cities hold a secret within their great frames. A key obtained from the Warden unlocks a sculk chest containing a precious enchanted book.
Apply its enchantment to a netherite fire starter to awaken the portal. As it opens, the ground shakes, debris falls and an immense rift tears through the terrain above the city.
Beyond the Portal, the War Has Already Happened
Beneath an eternal night, a giant eye watches over a world consumed by sculk.
Explore its biomes, fortresses, bastions and crypts. Search devastated villages, collapsed outposts and ruined mansions. Beneath the corruption remain dirt, stone and traces of a world that once resembled your own.
Valuable resources await in its chests and ores fill its depths, but every expedition brings new dangers.
Fight, Explore and Harness Sculk
Discover corrupted creatures with distinct abilities, mini-bosses and new resources. Craft equipment, upgrade your weapons and armor, develop sculk farms and build devices to power or contain the infection.
This devastated world may be more than a destination. It may be a warning.
