REQUIRES FABRIC MOD LOADER
It's now included in Cotton! Check https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/cotton.
This mod loads datapacks from the .minecraft/datapacks folder. No more copying datapacks to every world! What else could be said? :)

1.16+ when?
I know this is very inappropriate to ask, but could you make a Forge version for 1.14.2?
In reply to vico_vps:
There is already one:
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/drp-global-datapack
doesn't seem to be working for me. i had to manually make the datapacks folder, i put a few datapacks in there some in .zip's. and nothing, not even recognized by the game.
How can I install the Fabric?
I want to install to the vanilla launcher.
But I’m fail.

And overall we have more mods on 1.14 at this point. Probably 1 month, and we'll have fully fledged magic and tech mods. (2 original tech mods, and at least 1 magic mods are being worked on)

Anyway, moving to point. Fabric won't be irrelevant when 1.14 forge comes out. Its direction is not decided yet, we don't know whether we will work with/without Forge, or what. We do not even know which APIs Fabric will include (and which ones will be optional in separate mod). But still, it is a powerful and interesting tool, and won't be irrelevant once Forge for 1.14 is here, since by then, lots of new mods will be for Fabric. Also, don't forget that Fabric does not have much of the technical debt Forge has (spaghetti code, causing bugs, long load times, questionable design decisions, etc...)
Also datapacks are only for modifying content. They are laughably bad for the thing which is currently called modding for Forge/Fabric/whatever. They are just .json data files with no code and limited methods.
