Data Center

Data Center turns compute into a real SkyBlock resource: build server Racks, power and cool them, then route compute over a bandwidth-limited cable network to Synthesizers for materials or Mining Rigs/Hosting Racks for real crypto income

What's new

The technician no longer walks. He stands at his workstation and services every machine of its room from there - whichever way it faces, however high it hangs, wherever a path would have been blocked. No more technicians stuck in front of a rack they could not reach, wandering off through a door or standing in a cold aisle doing nothing.

  • He finds the room by itself: everything the air of the room around his workstation touches, halls up to about 30,000 blocks included, counted again every 30 seconds - a new rack is his after half a minute at most.
  • He stays on his spot in front of the workstation and goes back there when pushed or moved; he no longer gets pushed around by players or mobs.
  • A job still takes him the same time, he still looks at the machine while working, and everything else - parts, skills, wages, two technicians sharing a hall - is unchanged.
  • He only ever stands where there is room for him: in front of the workstation, else on top of it, each with two free blocks. With neither he stays where he is, and a workstation with no room hires nobody.
  • Server-side only: worlds and clients of 1.10.0 keep working; a technician saved somewhere else in the room is back at his workstation within a second.

No more text running into other text, buttons, slots or out of a panel. Every screen was measured against the game font, in English and German, with long names and large sums.

  • Lines that still do not fit end in "..." and show in full when you point at them (rack, rig, container, ASIC, grid, certification, alarm, salvage, synthesizer, trading and Software Lab readouts).
  • Bank Terminal: the buttons are as wide as their labels (they ran into each other), the panel grows with them, and rate and interest paid have a line each.
  • Mining Rig: the chain picker no longer runs out of the panel; the open list shows chain and algorithm side by side.
  • Hosting Rack (worlds before 2009): the hosting-type row has two lines - type and customers, then the fill dial and the orders a month - instead of one cut-off line.
  • Overclock row: shorter wording, so the power cost stays inside the panel.
  • Trading Terminal: the twelve coin tabs fit in the panel (the last four were below it).
  • Wallet: with all twelve coins out, the USD total no longer shares a line with the amount label.
  • Shop: wider sidebar ("Processors", "Second-hand" were cut), tabs and sort buttons stay in the pane, a receipt never covers the title or the balance.
  • Certification Terminal is wider ("Tier IV - Fault Tolerant" ran over the title); Parts Cabinet, Workstation, Reorder, Enchantment Downloader hints wrap instead of running across slots; Salvage Bench labels sit above their slots; Workbench overflow slots get one label per kind.
  • Client-side only: some panels moved a few pixels (Hosting Rack in early worlds, Parts Cabinet, Salvage Bench); worlds, saves and network packets are unchanged.
