Data Center

Data Center turns compute into a real SkyBlock resource: build server Racks, power and cool them, then route compute over a bandwidth-limited cable network to Synthesizers for materials or Mining Rigs/Hosting Racks for real crypto income

What's new

[2.1.3] - 2026-10-18

Worlds load unchanged (new block only, no save key or registry name changes). Client and server both need version 2.1.3 (new block in the registry).

  • Water loop: new Rack Manifold (Shop, Infrastructure, $6,000, from 2012-01-01, with its own news). Place it once against a row of racks - beside, above or below one - and pipe chilled water in: it feeds the cold plates of every rack in the row and takes their return water back, which it pushes out to the return pipe like every loop block. No pipe to each rack any more.
  • The row is found like a busway: racks (Rack, AI Rack, Mining Rig, Hosting Rack) that touch each other form a group; racks without cold plates or on another loop pass it on but are not fed. Only the manifold owner's (or team's) racks join; a foreign rack ends the row. A rack is fed when its cold plates are on the manifold's loop (Loop Tagger).
  • No rack limit: the incoming water is the only limit; when it runs short, every rack gets its share. Several manifolds in one row share the work and never feed a rack twice; rows that come to belong to one team (players join a team) join up. A rack that changes owner or team leaves the row at once. The upper half of a Server Shelf or Cabinet counts as the rack. Racks with their own pipes work as before, also in the same row.
  • The manifold uses no pump budget and reports no heat itself - the cold plates do that, as before. Jade shows "Rack Manifold: N racks, X kW" and the chilled water it hands out; the Control Room Display lists manifolds with their racks and kW.
  • Handbook: new page Rack Manifold, hint on the Cold Plates page. No recipe; the block drops itself.

[2.1.2] - 2026-10-18

Worlds load unchanged (new blocks only, no save key or registry name changes).

  • Deco: seven new pieces in the Data Center Deco tab. Black-and-yellow hazard stripes as Hazard Stripe Wall, Stairs and Slab, a narrow Hazard Bollard and a Roll-Up Door Marking (floor block with a wide striped band across the driving direction; it turns to face you when placed).
  • Deco: Barrier Tape (red and white) and Barrier Chain (black and yellow) - posts that join each other and walls like a fence. Players cannot step over them, but they do not wall in the air of a server room (like cables, they are in datacenter:room_passable).
  • Recipes: Hazard Stripe Wall 8x from Hazard Stripe Floor around yellow dye; Stairs/Slab from the wall; Bollard 4x from wall over iron ingot; Door Marking 3x from black concrete, Hazard Stripe Floor, black concrete; Barrier Tape 6x from white wool, red dye, white wool over two sticks; Barrier Chain 6x from chain, yellow dye, chain over two iron ingots.

[2.1.1] - 2026-10-17

Worlds load unchanged (no save key or registry name changes).

  • Log Buyer: new config economy.timberMarketScope (ACCOUNT default, or SERVER). ACCOUNT is the old behaviour: one saturation counter per wallet owner, i.e. per team with FTB Teams (all Log Buyers of a team share it), else per player. SERVER shares one market for the whole server, so a second account or player no longer gets the high opening price again. SERVER uses the world's original market counter, switching back restores each owner's own counter.

[2.1.0] - 2026-10-17

Client and server both need version 2.1.0 (new blocks, fluids and the Control Room Display).

Water loop

  • New fluids Chilled Water and Return Water (pipes only, no buckets).
  • Cold Plate Kit: right-click a Rack, AI Rack, Mining Rig or Hosting Rack. Chilled water in from any pipe, return water out to all sides; at most 80 % of the machine's draw goes to the water (config waterLoop.coldPlateCapturePercent), the rest stays room heat. Breaking the machine returns the kit. Jade shows what the plate hands to the water. Switch: features.waterLoop.
  • Heat rejection plants: CRAH Unit, two blocks tall (cools the closed room in front of it with chilled water, up to 50 kW, never below the 20 C supply; the upper front shows the live kW), Dry Cooler, a 2x4 multiblock with a fan row on top (250 kW up to 15 C outside, nothing from 25 C), Chiller, a 2x4 multiblock with condenser fans on top (500 kW at any weather, draws cold / COP in FE, COP 2..7 by outside air) and the Cooling Tower, a 5x5x7 multiblock (base, two rows of louvres, basin, fan deck and a 3x3 fan stack; 1.5 MW by wet-bulb temperature, 1.8 L of make-up water per kWh from a water source block at its base or a pipe, held back by water policy). Plant Ports in the casing connect pipes to the tower, dry cooler and chiller. Outdoor plants need open sky. All take power, push their output to neighbouring blocks of the same owner only, and show capacity, water, power and what holds them back in Jade.
  • Coolant Pump (CDU): the plants of one loop turn at most what its pumps moved in the last tick (1200 mB/t per pump, 7.7 W per mB/t); without a pump Jade shows "pump" as the bottleneck. The pump tops the loop up with plain water from a source block next to it or its water tank (config waterLoop.fillRateMb, default 100). Water costs nothing.
  • Loop Tagger: sneak-use picks a loop number 1..16, right-click on a plant, pump or machine with cold plates sets it there; each owner's loops are separate.
  • Effects, the same for every player: 3D fan rotors on dry cooler, chiller and the finished cooling tower that spin with the load and coast down slowly, rain and basin water in the cooling tower, steam over the tower, stronger heat haze over the dry cooler, cold mist sinking off the chiller and frost on it, fan and water sounds by load, thicker hoses and manifolds at the back of racks with cold plates.
  • Control Room Display (Leitwarte): wall screen, standard size 3 x 2 blocks (one Control Room Display bottom left, Display Screens to the right and above; placing it fills in the screens from your inventory, sneak to place it alone). Also clean at 1 x 1, 2 x 2 and other sizes. It draws the flow diagram of its loop in large type, never cut off (plants, pumps, machines with cold plates, heat, flow, power), with blue and orange dots moving through the pipes by flow and a blinking bar at the bottleneck; right-click opens a table. Only the owner's team sees the numbers. Loop Tagger sets its loop.
  • Shop, Facility tab, Cooling filter: CRAH Unit $30,000, Coolant Pump $35,000, Dry Cooler $40,000 (coil $2,000, fan $2,500), Chiller $130,000 (casing $4,000, fan $2,500), Cooling Tower $60,000 (casing $800, louvre $1,200, fan deck $15,000, stack $1,500, plant port $1,500), Control Room Display $4,000, Display Screen $1,500, Loop Tagger $25, Cold Plate Kit $18,000 from 2012-01-01 (with a news item).
  • The old coolers (Room Fan, Air Conditioner, Heat Exchanger, split indoor and outdoor unit) are no longer sold and no longer in the creative tab. Placed ones keep working and can still be sold back.
  • Machines without a cold plate save and compute exactly as before.
  • Pumps only count water that reaches something other than a pump: two pumps feeding each other, or water that only runs in a circle, drive nothing. The coolers of a loop also only turn return water the loop really made (heated by a CRAH or cold plate, topped up by a pump).
  • Coolers only remove the heat the loop's CRAHs and cold plates put into the water in the last tick. Their fans and compressor draw power for that heat only; spare water still becomes chilled water for a small base load (5 %). The Control Room Display shows "removed" (real) and "possible".
  • Two multiblocks can no longer share blocks: the second one stays incomplete until the first is broken. A Plant Port stays with its plant.
  • Loop blocks without an owner only connect to other blocks without an owner.
  • Works with any fluid pipe mod, tested with Voltium pipes (also in "Normal" mode on every side): a block no longer pushes its output back into the pipe that feeds it.
  • Handbook: new pages for the water loop, CRAH, pump, dry cooler, chiller, cooling tower (with how to build it), cold plates, Control Room Display, Loop Tagger and pipes; the old cooler pages say they are no longer sold.
