Data Center

Data Center turns compute into a real SkyBlock resource: build server Racks, power and cool them, then route compute over a bandwidth-limited cable network to Synthesizers for materials or Mining Rigs/Hosting Racks for real crypto income

What's new

A hotfix for technicians who fitted parts without end - and a season reset that can run by itself, switched off for now.

Only the server needs this update. Nothing players see or send has changed, so a 1.7.3 client joins a 1.7.4 server as before.

Added

  • The season reset can run by itself. Switched on with skyblock.autoReset, a season's end gives everybody skyblock.resetDelayMinutes (15 by default) for a last look around, with warnings in chat and the time on the spawn board. Then the server saves and stops; on its next start the old world is moved into datacenter-seasons and a fresh world begins as the next season, campus and champions' islands included. Panels like BisectHosting's start a server again after a stop they did not ask for. If the old world cannot be moved, datacenter-seasons/reset.failed stops any further attempt. Off by default until it has run once on a real server: without it, the season simply stays over

Fixed

  • Technicians stop swapping parts back and forth. A spare from the shelf or a Parts Cabinet only went in if it was not dead - and the part he pulled went onto the same shelf. So a technician fitted a worn part, took the other worn one back out on his next round, and fitted that again, without end. A spare now has to leave the machine better off: anything running beats a dead part, otherwise it must have more life left than what it replaces and not be close to failing itself. An upgrade has to be a better model, not an equal one, and in no worse shape
  • Early part changes without the Stocktaking course. A technician who can buy but not stock ahead walked to a nearly worn-out part, said he could not get a replacement, and ignored that machine for a whole day. He now only goes if a spare is actually on his shelf
  • Two technicians in one room no longer pick the same machine. The second one used to arrive to a finished job, say he could not do anything, and leave the machine alone for a minute
