What's new

1.1.0 (Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4+)

Added

  • One settings screen for every Darkmoon mod. Mods list > DarkmoonLibrary > Config opens it: the usage stats choice, update notices, and a button for each installed Darkmoon mod's own settings (Eclipse Gate's from 1.4.4).
  • Update notices. When a newer version of an installed Darkmoon mod is out, a small note in the title screen's top-right corner says so; click it to open the download page. It uses Forge's own update checker, and can be turned off in the settings screen (or with update_notice=false in config/darkmoonlibrary-client.properties).
  • For mod developers: DarkmoonSettings.register(modId, name, parent -> yourScreen) from client setup adds a mod's settings to the screen. Point updateJSONURL in mods.toml at https://stats.darkmoonhollow.xyz/updates/<project>.json for update notices.

Changed

  • The library watches for its own updates too: DarkmoonLibrary's mods.toml now points at https://stats.darkmoonhollow.xyz/updates/darkmoonlib.json, so a newer library shows in the same title-screen note.
  • New jar name: darkmoonlib-1.20.1.<version>.jar (was darkmoonlibrary-1.20.1-<version>.jar). The mod ID is still darkmoonlibrary, so nothing changes in game or for mods that depend on it.
  • Your update-notice choice is kept in its own file, config/darkmoonlibrary-client.properties, apart from the stats choice in config/darkmoon-stats.properties.

For mod developers

  • Builds with Java 17 whatever JAVA_HOME says: gradle.properties sets org.gradle.java.home and org.gradle.java.installations.paths to the JDK 17 install, build.gradle asks for a Java 17 toolchain, and gradlew.bat falls back to an installed Java 17 when JAVA_HOME points somewhere that isn't there.
  • Eclipse Gate builds the library for you: if libs/darkmoonlib-1.20.1.<version>.jar is missing, Eclipse Gate's build runs gradlew build copyToEclipseGate here first, and moves older library jars to libs/disabled.
  • The stats site serves the update files from each project's Latest version in its admin panel (Update notices section).
