Cursed Halloween & Souls

Dark fantasy and necromancy for Halloween. Explore forgotten graveyards and shadow crypts, face the creatures of the night, gather their souls and turn them into cursed blocks, magic candies and a set of soul weapons.

Everything fits the vanilla style: hand-made pixel art, 3D models made in Blockbench and vanilla-like mechanics. Every item explains what it does in its tooltip, and all of the mod's content is in its own creative tab.

Creatures

• Wandering Shadow (hostile): a tall, dark silhouette with glowing eyes that walks at night and in dark caves. Its hit blinds you for 3 seconds, and it turns see-through as you get close. Drops Soul Dust.
• Graveyard Ghoul (neutral): a hunched creature of stone and moss. It only attacks when provoked (and calls the ghouls around it), or when someone breaks a Soul Altar nearby. Its hit causes Weakness for 5 seconds. Drops Cursed Bones.

Structures

• Forgotten Graveyard: on the surface of forests, taiga and plains. Headstones of Cursed Cobblestone, rotten posts, a Soul Altar, a Spectral Jack o'Lantern, a buried chest and a Graveyard Ghoul spawner in a cellar under the altar.
• Shadow Crypt: deep underground (Y -40 to 10). A dark stone hall with a Wandering Shadow spawner and a chest with rare loot.

Blocks

• Cursed Cobblestone: slows down whoever walks on it, unless they wear leather boots. With slab, stairs and wall.
• Graveyard Dirt: at night, in the dark, it may raise a Wandering Shadow.
• Soul Altar: a 3D pedestal burning with blue soul fire (light 12). Breaking it angers every Graveyard Ghoul within 16 blocks.
• Spectral Jack o'Lantern: a carved pumpkin lit by soul fire (light 15). Passive animals flee from it.
• Rotten Log, Rotten Planks, slab, stairs and the Rotten Door, with a translucent glass window.

Magic candies

• Shadow Mint Candy: Night Vision for 30 seconds.
• Ghost Gum: Invisibility and Slow Falling for 15 seconds.
• Devil's Hot Candy: Fire Resistance for 45 seconds.
• Cursed Pumpkin Pie: fills your hunger bar, with Regeneration (10 s) and Nausea (3 s).
• Black Caramel Apple: Speed II for 60 seconds.

Soul weapons and tools

• Shadow Dagger: very fast; each hit has a 15% chance to turn you invisible for 3 seconds.
• Reaper's Scythe: slow and heavy; also hits everything in front of you (70% damage) and repairs itself with every kill.
• Soul Staff: shoots a soul bolt (6 damage, sets targets on fire, can hit up to three enemies in a row). Each shot uses one Soul Dust.
• Spectral Pickaxe: mines like diamond, mines faster at night, and in the dark nearby ores give off particles that only you can see.
• Graveyard Axe: +4 damage against the undead, and breaks rotten wood instantly.

The dagger, scythe and pickaxe are repaired with Soul Dust in an anvil; the axe with iron. All recipes are in the recipe book.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21.
• Fabric: Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer and Fabric API.
• NeoForge: NeoForge 21.1.
• Install it on the client and on the server.
