OVERVIEW
- Works with any mod that registers its items as Curios accessories.
- Hostile mobs drop a random accessory on death; the pool is built automatically from everything installed.
- Drops near spawners are reduced by default, so mob farms don't flood your world with accessories.
- Looting on your weapon raises the drop rate, so a proper farm tool is rewarded.
- Everything is configurable, and the config ships with its own in-game screen - no file editing required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge
- Curios API (required dependency)
- Must be installed on BOTH client and server
IN-GAME CONFIGURATION SCREEN
Open it from Mods -> CurioDrop -> Config. No text editor and no restart needed.
The screen uses a two-panel layout:
- LEFT - a searchable, scrollable list of every configured entry, grouped by section. Green dots mark entries that resolve to a real mob, item or mod; grey dots mark typos.
- RIGHT - live sliders and buttons for the selected parameters.
Adjustable from the screen:
Setting Range Default
Global drop chance 0% - 5% 0.1% Looting multiplier per level 0 - 10x 2x Spawner detection radius 1 - 500 blocks 100 Spawner reduction factor 0% - 100% 50% Trigger mode player kill / nearby player kill Proximity trigger radius 0.5 - 256 blocks 5
Five editable lists are managed on the same screen:
- Mob blacklist - these mobs never drop accessories
- Mob whitelist - when non-empty, only these mobs drop
- Curio blacklist - these accessories never drop
- Curio whitelist - when non-empty, only these accessories drop
- Mod blacklist - no accessory from these mods ever drops
Blacklist entries always win over whitelist entries.
The screen has Save, Reload and Restore-defaults buttons, and edits are saved automatically when you close it, so nothing is lost by accident. Changes apply to new drops immediately in a running world.
Everything the screen edits is written back to the same TOML files, so you can still hand-edit them if you prefer.
NOTES
- The config file ships with a Chinese translation built in - no reference guide needed.
- Mob drops respect the standard drop logic; the mod does not add any new items, blocks, or GUI blocks of its own.
- Safe to add to an existing world. Removing it will not corrupt anything - it only affects drops.
