Cubbits

A hash driven in-game crypto currency mod to fuel server economies. Configurable to use real work or simulated work. Has counterfeit and duplication protection built into the ledger and some other monumental additions. AI statement: Claude was used heavily

Cubbits is a Minecraft mod built around a block-chain where the blocks really are blocks. Every Cubbit you hold has a provable history: who mined it, who crafted it, which machine worked on it, and every hand it has passed through.

It starts underground. Cubbit Ore forms in obsidian crusts next to deep lava, and each nugget you mine gets its own unique hash, so no two nuggets are ever the same. Smelt nuggets into ingots and craft an ingot with obsidian into a Null Bit, the bottom tier of the Cubbit family.

Climbing the tiers takes work. The Cubbit Rig burns fuel and hashes over and over until it finds a hash with enough leading zeros. When it does, your block moves up a tier, from Null to Unit, Bigg and on up to Biggoddamned. Each tier is harder than the last. Compute Cores packed around a rig speed it up, and the Rig Wrench shows your whole mining setup in an isometric view, with each rig’s own coloured symbols marking which cores belong to it.

Everything is recorded on the Cubbitchain, a ledger shared by the whole server. Open a Cubbitchain Ledger to trace any item’s history as a tree back to the nuggets it came from, see who signed it over to whom, and check server-wide stats. Items thrown into lava or the void are marked as burned for good.

Finally, the Cubbit Monument lets you sacrifice hashed items to earn points. You spend them in its skill tree to give players nearby buffs.

Cubbits comes in 13 colour-coded tiers and 12 sizes, from a single Bit to a Hubbyte. It’s in early alpha for Minecraft 26.3 on Forge, so expect things to change.
