# Create Tick Controller — Changelog 1.4.7 → 1.4.12
**TL;DR**: the client optimizations now understand **Sable ships**. No more invisible wheels, frozen wings or vanishing thrusters: everything aboard renders and animates by its **true visual distance**, and a new **"Sable Ships"** section in Sodium's Video Settings lets you optimize aggressively without breaking anything. Bonus: your gunshots are never silenced by machine noise again.

## 1.4.7 — Invisible Offroad wheels
- **Fix: rock cutting wheels (and wheel mounts, borehead bearings) from the Offroad mod did not appear.** These parts are entirely renderer-drawn: the distance culling made them vanish outright. They join the builtin protections, under the same toggle as the Tracks+ wheels.
## 1.4.8 — Invisible Create Propulsion thrusters
- **Fix: multiblock thrusters were invisible**, especially aboard Sable ships. A multiblock thruster's whole body is drawn by a single controller block entity — culled, the entire thruster vanished at once. Protected by default, like the wheels.
## 1.4.9 / 1.4.10 — THE fix: Sable ships understood at the source
The root cause of all those bugs: Sable stores a ship's blocks in far-away chunks (the "plot chunks") and visually projects them to the ship's real position. Our optimizations measured distances to the plot chunks — thousands of blocks — so **everything aboard a ship was culled and throttled permanently**, even the ship under your feet. Fixed everywhere through Sable's own API (no dependency added: the mod still works fine without Sable):
- **Rendering**: shipboard block entities render by their true visual distance — belt items, dial needles, thrusters all appear up close and cull far away.
- **Ticking**: shipboard machines animate at full rate near you and calm down when the ship is far — instead of being permanently frozen.
- **Sounds**: a nearby ship's machines are audible; a genuinely distant ship's sounds are culled by their real distance.
**New "Sable Ships" section** in Video Settings → Tick Reduction (only shown when Sable is installed):
| Option | Effect |
|--------|--------|
| Ship Tick Reduction | ON = distant ships' machines tick less (FPS) |
| Ship Full-Rate Distance | A bubble around you where the whole ship animates perfectly, even on Potato |
| Ship Render Distance | Beyond it, ships' dynamic details are no longer drawn — a big FPS win |
| Ship-Aware Sounds | Fixes the distance of shipboard machine sounds |
The quality profiles set all of this automatically (Potato = 16-block bubble, render 24).
## 1.4.11 — Cleanup: no more case-by-case toggles
- **The three "Optimize wheels / torsion springs / thrusters" toggles are removed**: aboard ships, the render distance slider now governs everything by true distance — no more choosing between FPS and correct visuals. The protections stay active for parts placed on the ground.
- **Aeronautics propellers (wooden propeller & co) are never throttled anymore**: their animation broke with visible backward snapping when throttled, for zero gain (a propeller's cost is in rendering, not ticking). They always spin perfectly; distance culling delivers the FPS.
## 1.4.12 — Gameplay sounds protected + polish
- **Fix: your gunshots (Scorched Guns…) sometimes made no sound in the middle of machines.** The spam caps and the sound time budget treated every sound equally — machine din exhausted the quotas before your shot. They now only apply to **machine sounds**: gunfire, mobs and weather always play, even in full auto.
- **New: Sound Protect Radius** (slider, default 8 blocks) — any sound within 8 blocks of you is never dropped. What happens next to your ears is gameplay.
- **Fix: wheels mounted on vehicles ignored the Ship Render Distance** — they render through a special suspension path that escaped the aboard-ship detection; now covered.
- **Profiles now tune the whole sound gate**: Potato = 24-block sound culling, 1 ms budget, 4-block protection — the complete FPS-above-all setup in one click.
- **UI**: the "Vanilla (no optimization)" label no longer overflows the selector, and the Optimization Profile tooltip now explains each profile line by line.

## In practice
1. Update the jar (client-side only for these changes — `createtickcontroller-1.21.1-1.4.12.jar`).
2. Video Settings → **Tick Reduction** → pick a profile (the tooltip explains each one).
3. On a server with Sable ships: the **Sable Ships** section is your friend — lower "Ship Render Distance" for more FPS, raise "Ship Full-Rate Distance" for perfect ships from further away.
