Your gear, made by your machines.
Smith your own tools, weapons, armor, shields and bows from any combination of materials, Tinkers' Construct style, with every step done on Create's machines. Melt and alloy metal in heated basins, cast it into sand molds with a Spout, quench the hot parts in a fan's water stream, cut gems from whole blocks with a saw and put everything together in Mechanical Crafters. Each material has its own strengths and traits, and smithing takes only two thirds of the metal a crafting table would.
⚒️ Features
- 🔧 Any combination: every tool is a head, a binding and a handle, each of any material that fits that place. An iron head, a leather binding and a blaze rod handle? Sure.
- ⛏️ Lots to make: pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, swords, knives, 3x3 hammers and maces; armor, shields, bows, crossbows and arrows.
- 🏭 All on Create: melting with flux, alloying, casting, quenching, gem cutting, carving, polishing, assembly in Mechanical Crafters and repair on a Deployer. Smithed gear never touches a crafting table or an anvil.
- 💰 Cheaper than crafting: a cast part takes two thirds of the metal, so a set of iron armor costs 16 ingots instead of 24, and netherite needs no smithing template.
- ✨ Traits: rarer materials bring abilities (Lucky, Magnetic, Searing, Keen and many more) that add up across parts.
- 🎨 Coatings: a Spout pours a metal coat over a finished piece and adds that metal's traits.
- 🛠️ Never lost: at their last point of durability, smithed tools break and wait to be mended.
- 💎 Diamonds are special: heat one and it becomes graphite, for good.
- 🪵 Extras: hollowed logs carved by a Deployer with a knife (as planters, pools and lanterns), and armor trims in many mods' metals.
🚀 Your first tool
- Craft The Smith's Manual (a book and a copper ingot). It explains every step and every material.
- Put a stone block through a Mechanical Saw (its filter picks the part) for a Stone Pickaxe Head.
- Polish a stick with Sand Paper into a Wooden Handle.
- Twist two string in a Basin with a Mechanical Mixer into a String Binding.
- Stack three Mechanical Crafters: head on top, binding in the middle, handle at the bottom. Power them, and out comes your pickaxe.
Then build a foundry for metal parts: patterns, casting sand, sand molds, a heated basin and a Spout. The Smith's Manual walks you through it.
📦 Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge
- Create 6.0.10 or newer (6.0.x)
- Recommended: Modonomicon, for The Smith's Manual
🤝 Works with
- Farmer's Delight: its knives carve hollowed logs, and smithed knives work its cutting boards.
- Create Crafts & Additions: its rods and wires become handles and bindings.
- Create: Far Skies: titanium, starmetal and the Vestige's materials; its Helium-3 Heater superheats without blaze cakes.
- More materials from The Twilight Forest, The Aether, Deep Aether, Advanced Netherite, Galosphere, Deeper and Darker, Malum, Aquamirae, Aquaculture 2, Roots and Elder Dragon: up to 61 materials.
- JEI: information pages, and Create's own JEI categories show every step.
⚙️ Good to know
- Only the materials of installed mods exist.
- Smithworks also makes the armor icons of any mod show their trim in its real colour.
- 🌍 In English and German.
Made for the Far Lands modpack. Works in any NeoForge 1.21.1 pack with Create.
