Description

Everything you automate ends up in a chest.
Create hands you belts, presses, deployers, trains - an entire factory - and then
nothing spectacular to make with it. Salvo adds the output stage: fireworks your
line builds and your kinetic network fires.
THE MORTAR
Feed it shells. Give it rotation. Pulse it with redstone.
Rotation is not an on/off switch here. It is the aiming mechanism:
below 32 rpm - won't fire
32 to 63 rpm - low altitude, small ball
64 to 127 rpm - medium altitude, large ball
128 rpm and up - high altitude, star burst
Run the shaft in reverse and the burst crackles.
Hold the redstone signal and it fires a shell every 12 ticks - that is the barrage.
Pulse it and you get a single shot.
Salvo deliberately ships no "show controller" block. A Sequenced Gearshift and a
Redstone Link already do everything one would have done, so the choreography stays
Create's job, and yours.
- Comparator output equals the number of shells still loaded
- Accepts funnels, belts and arms like any other Create machine
- Stress impact: 4
BOLT ONE TO A CONTRAPTION
A train. A windmill. A gantry. A mortar riding a contraption fires on its own while
the contraption moves, drawing shells from the contraption's own storage the way a
Deployer does.
This is the reason the mod exists: a train crossing at night, firing a salvo as it goes.
Usual Create rules apply - glue the mortar on so it is actually part of the structure,
and put the shells in a chest that rides along.
THE GERB
A ground-level fountain of sparks. No projectile, no entity, nothing to clean up. It
simply burns for as long as the shaft turns, and burns harder the faster it turns.
Right-click it with any dye to change the colour. Stress impact: 2.
SHELLS
Sixteen colours, one per dye. They are not craftable at a bench. A shell is made on
the line you already built:
1. Craft Shell Casings - 4 paper + 1 gunpowder makes 2.
2. Run them through a Sequenced Assembly, 2 loops of:
Deployer (gunpowder) -> Deployer (dye) -> Mechanical Press.
The colour comes from the dye in the Deployer, so a multi-colour show becomes a
sorting problem - which is exactly the kind of problem Create is good at.

QUESTIONS YOU WOULD REASONABLY ASK
Fabric?
No. Create itself has no 1.21.1 Fabric build - Create on Fabric stopped at 1.20.1.
The moment that changes, this becomes possible.
Will it lag my server?
The shells become ordinary vanilla firework rockets, so a Salvo show costs exactly
what a vanilla firework show costs. The Gerb spawns no entity at all: its sparks are
client-side particles.
Is it safe to stand next to?
The mortar is. The burst is not. These are real vanilla rockets, and a rocket that
opens on your head hurts the same way a vanilla one does. Aim up.
Does it break blocks?
No. Nothing in this mod damages terrain.
Modpacks?
Yes, freely. No permission needed, no credit required though it is always welcome. MIT.
