Create: Railroad Wand

Do you like building railroads in Minecraft, but it takes too much time? Then this mod is for you!

This mod adds one item - Railroad Building Wand, and one block - Railroad Building Block. Right-clicking while crouching with Railroad Building Wand in your hand opens a menu to select a construction template (currently only two templates are available: a single-track tunnel and a double-track tunnel without a separating wall). You can scroll templates using the arrows in this window (I plan to bind keyboard keys to them in the future); to finalize your template selection, click the “Confirm” button.

If you hold the Railroad Building Wand in your hand and right-click in the air, the currently selected template will appear in the chat.

To build a railroad, place a construction block and click on it with the construction wand. Construction is creative and does not require resources.

Place the construction block carefully! You cannot undo construction! The location of the construction block in each template is indicated in the construction template selection menu!

Although this mod was originally designed for building railroads using the Create mod, it works fine without it. All blocks will be placed in the world, except for railroad tracks; if the Create mod is not included in your modpack, air will be placed in place of the railroad tracks.
