Create: Far Skies

Unlisted
Build rockets from Create blocks and fly to the Moon, an airless world of craters, stranded colonies and fallen leaders, then on to the Vestige, a storm-torn copy of your homeworld over the void, where the richest materials wait.

Build a rocket. Fly to the Moon. Come back alive.

Build a rocket out of Create blocks, glue it to a Flight Computer and fly to the Moon: an airless world with a third of home's gravity, stranded colonies under their domes, strange creatures and three fallen leaders of an old expedition. Then go on to the Vestige, a storm-torn copy of the homeworld floating over the void, where the richest materials wait for those who come back alive.

🚀 Features

  • 🚀 Rockets are Create contraptions of any shape, up to 1024 blocks, with seats for the crew.
  • 🎛️ Launch Control: pick the destination: the Moon, the homeworld, the Vestige, a landing beacon, orbit, or the pad the rocket came from.
  • 💧 Propellant: hydrogen and oxygen, split from water by an Electrolyzer running on Create rotation.
  • 🌕 The Moon: vacuum, freezing nights, low gravity, sealed bases with oxygen, EVA suits and meteor showers.
  • 💎 Moon materials: titanium, starmetal, rare earth, lumen crystals, helium-3, and shards scraped from the Moon's unbreakable core.
  • 🏘️ Colonies of stranded villagers with eight new trades, creatures to tame, monsters, and three bosses in their ruins.
  • 🛰️ Satellites put biome names, a weather forecast and fresh craters on your JourneyMap map.
  • ⛈️ The Vestige: islands over the void in endless lightning and wind, supercharged monsters, and the Archmaker in his sanctum.
  • ☄️ Falling stars: pieces of the Vestige crash into the homeworld, with treasure in their cores and charged monsters climbing out.

🛠️ Getting started

  1. Craft the Far Skies Logbook (a book and an Iron Sheet). It explains everything in the game.
  2. Get Create's brass age going: rocket parts need Precision Mechanisms, Electron Tubes, casings and sheets.
  3. Build an Electrolyzer and store hydrogen and oxygen in separate Fluid Tanks.
  4. Build the rocket: a Flight Computer, Hydrolox Rocket Engines pointing down, tanks and seats, all glued to the computer with Super Glue.
  5. Place a Launch Control near the rocket and pick the Moon.
  6. Pack for the trip: Create's diving helmet and backtank for air, and a second Launch Control for the way home.
  7. Start the countdown, sit down and lift off!

📦 Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge
  • Create 6.0.10 or newer (6.0.x)
  • GeckoLib
  • Recommended: Modonomicon, for the Far Skies Logbook

🤝 Works with

  • Create Aeronautics with Dimensional Sable: ships that cross between worlds as shuttles.
  • JourneyMap: what your satellites see, on the map.
  • Generation Tweaks: geological provinces on the survey map.
  • Open Parties and Claims: satellites for your party; falling stars keep off claims.
  • Elder Dragon: two of its eyes come from here.
  • Create: Smithworks: titanium, starmetal and the Vestige's materials become smithing materials.
  • JEI: pages for every block, item and gas.

⚙️ Good to know

  • The game rule doVestigeMeteors turns falling stars off for one world.
  • Server config farskies-server.toml: Moon gravity, vacuum and cold, the Vestige's wind and lightning, falling stars, rocket size and fuel use, satellite range.
  • 🌍 In English and German.

Made for the Far Lands modpack. Works in any NeoForge 1.21.1 pack with Create.
