Core Ecosystem (Infection Mod)

A meteor brings a living alien plant to your world. It roots, hatches its heart, grows its own creatures and trees of the dead, and spreads its miasma toward you. Cut it down before it grows too big to stop. [Medium AI assisted Development]

What's new

Added:
  - Dragonflies: from Phase 6 each SubCore's two guards bring it animals, which rot into a Rotting Carcass beside it; two dragonflies fester inside for 2 minutes and fly out.
  - Dragonflies hover high over the colony's land and scout for it, catch small animals and fliers for the Core, carry Mites to far animals and thralls to far trees, and never hunt players. A Dragonfly Spawn Egg is in the creative tab.
  - The escape pod: a three-person pod with a glass canopy and a burnt tree punched up through its roof, 400 to 900 blocks from the first Core Tree. It takes the crashed ship's place in new worlds.
  - Two of the pod's crew lie dead in its cabin.
  - The Log Screen in the pod's cockpit holds three logs: Departure, Journal and Final. Once read, they are in the Msg Reader's log too.
  - Goggle mode: right-click the Msg Reader to wear its view - a green tint, the compass bar across the top, the log bottom left, the phase bottom right. You can walk and fight with it on.
  - Thrall Scanning: scan the pod's Log Screen (or an older world's Ship Console) through the goggles; after that, a thrall you look at shows how long it has left.
  - The Guardian Growth is a creature: a veined sac held to the shell's inside by vine ropes. It swells, beats and splits open when the Guardian climbs out. It has 16 health and 4 armor; break it and the Guardian is lost.
  - A new Guardian, the Pre-Guardian, hunts on its own from birth, day and night, within 48 blocks of its Core: thralls, wild animals and night mobs, never players.
  - Guardians find a way round or out where the straight way is shut, climbing walls where they must.
  - Mobs the colony's creatures kill drop their XP. Idle Gardeners carry the orbs home; a mob the Core eats and coal a Gardener mines give XP too.
  - The Miasma biome spawns the mobs its land spawned before it was painted, and its Ascended Trees offer that land's animals.
  - A SubCore fills the ground under it with veins, as wide as its cord, when its egg cracks open.
  - Jade and the Colony Lens say what a Core Worm is doing. A stuck Guardian, a worm standing still and a Mite dying unfed write why in the log.

Removed:
  - The block stalk and bud, and the setting stalk_climbable. The stem cannot be climbed.
  - The Core Locator as its own item: it and the Msg Reader are one item. Its ping on right-click, the reader's pop-up screen and its line on the action bar are gone.
  - The Msg Reader's recipe: it comes from the Message Capsule.
  - The crashed ship from new worlds. Worlds that have one keep it.
  - The 2-minute limit on a new Guardian's feeding: it eats until it has the top meals of the rank it was grown for.
  - The Guardian Growth block from the creative tab. Old worlds load it as the new creature.

Tweaked:
  - The plant's stem is one solid creature from the bulb to the flower. It starts thin and fattens as it grows a block a second, and bends over in one curve; you bump into it and arrows glance off.
  - After the heart's death and a revival the flower opens and its stem stands up fully again.
  - Captured mobs no longer teleport onto the unit. They lie where they fell, and the unit walks over and ties them up with vine bands: 10 seconds for a Gardener, 20 for a Guard.
  - The Msg Reader is held like a map, a solid device in your hand. Sneak and right-click opens and closes it: closed it is the compass, open the phase dial.
  - The Message Capsule holds the note and the Msg Reader. A player who had both the Locator and the reader keeps one.
  - The Guardians are named Hunting Guardian, Cave Guardian, Tree Guardian and Heart Guardian everywhere.
  - The Hunting Guardian spins 5 Sap Webs a trip, leaves only when nobody is near its home, and runs home when something steps on its web.
  - A Guardian in a narrow cut climbs out instead of spinning in place. It slides through blocks only after a minute with no way out.
  - Mites see through leaves and roam when they have nothing to hunt.
  - The dirt sides of Overgrown Grass and Veined Dirt look like normal dirt with veins.
  - Sap Webs are thin and see-through. The Hunting Guardian's large web is fainter while hidden.
  - The Wrapping Vine's wrap is tight, with no gaps.
  - Far Ascended Trees belong to the closest Core, however far, and breathe once their colony is in Phase 7; a tree cut off from its colony stays faded. Phase 8 still counts only connected trees.
  - A carrier asks the units in its way to step aside, so it no longer drops its mob in a crowded gate.
  - A worm stuck in a tree it drained sinks and comes up on its veins.
  - Spore's gas mask keeps out the miasma and the Mites.
  - The meteor's wind runs along the ground over hills and dips.
  - Jade: in survival a Sap Web shows what is caught in it, or the block under it; an Ascended Tree shows the mob it was.
  - A creeping trail keeps 1 to 4 chunks loaded instead of 9, none behind it.
  - A rebuild waiting for XP says so on the Lens.
  - A mob the units knock out in the air, like a bat, drops to the ground and is tied up there; a Guardian gives up on a meal it cannot reach.
  - The goggles' phase dial and its reading no longer overlap, and the thrall's time is never under a panel.
  - The Guardian Growth at 0 % stands out of the wall between its ropes.
  - Save and Quit no longer hangs when the colony is still growing into new land.
  - An idle Gardener no longer goes back for an XP orb it gave up on as out of reach.
  - A SubCore cord hiding itself in bare stone takes the ground two blocks out instead of a stray deepslate block.
  - A Guard sent to a breach, a web or an intruder no longer wanders off on patrol until its order ends.
