Compound V: Advanced
Compound V Advanced is an addon for Compound V that expands existing powers with new mechanics, custom abilities, improved controls, new HUD elements, animations, and visual effects.
The addon is still under active development, and additional powers, features, balancing, and improvements will be added in future updates.
Requirements
Current Features:
Mind Control Advanced (MCA) is Thomas Godolkin's power from Gen V, built out with extra tiers of control. Some mechanics aren't listed anywhere on purpose, you'll find them by playing around with it.
Blood Control Advanced (BCA) is Marie Moreau's ability from Gen V, pushed close to what it does in the show. Same as MCA, a few things are left for you to discover.
Telekinesis Advanced (TA) covers Cindy and Kenji Miyashiro's telekinesis, taken well past their usual limits.
Laser Eyes Advanced additions
Three extra tools get added to Laser Eyes Advanced, and you switch between them from an in-game menu:
X-Ray Mode cuts a 3x3 tunnel, 10 blocks deep, in whatever direction you're looking, without actually changing the world. It follows your movement and view direction in real time, grants Night Vision automatically while it's on, and turns off the second you lose Laser Eyes Advanced. Ores, ladders, torches, chests, barrels, beds, doors and other functional blocks are never affected, X-Ray only hides plain terrain.
Night Vision is its own toggle, separate from X-Ray.
Heartbeat Sensing shows you nearby living entities through walls within a set radius, with different outline colors for allies and everyone else.
Server owners can turn off any of these three on their own. A disabled one shows up locked in the menu instead of just doing nothing when you click it.
Chest Blast: PTSD
Chest Blast has consequences now. Taking damage while it's active builds up a hidden meter over time, mob damage fills it faster than PvP damage does, so it rewards surviving a hard fight instead of being free value against other players.
As the meter fills, a radiation aura kicks in around you. It gets stronger in three stages, more particles, louder sound, more effect, and blocks nearby enemies' natural regen before eventually damaging them outright. Fill the meter completely and a forced countdown kicks off an uncontrolled radiation blast whether you want it or not.
The Radiation effect behind all this is its own thing, with custom HUD hearts, and it plays nice with Alex's Caves (idea of the radiation effect is taken from Alex's Caves,a great mod) if you have that installed, our effect and their Irradiated effect are treated as the same thing instead of stacking on top of each other.
Everything here is adjustable in the config: how fast the meter fills, PvP vs PvE balance, decay, aura radius and strength, sounds, all of it.
Controls
Activate Power (default C, from Compound V) activates whatever power you have selected.
Ability Button 1 (default B) ult-moves for BCA / MCA / Telekinesis Advanced
Ability Button 2 (default N) used for things like Crimson Rupture's limb selector, turn off/on radiation aura(chest blast ptsd),opens the Laser Eyes Advanced menu, where you pick between X-Ray, Night Vision, and Heartbeat Sensing,throwing orbit blocks what's behind you(telekinesis advanced).
Sneak + Ability Button 1 opens the BCA / MCA / Telekinesis Advanced power wheel.
Sneak + Ability Button 2 opens the ability type selection menu for eathen bulwark mode(telekinesis advanced)
All of these can be rebound in Options > Controls.
Configuration
The config covers pretty much everything, ability behavior, cooldowns, resource costs, feature toggles, and balance settings for every system mentioned above.
If you have the Configured mod installed, you can edit all of this from an in-game screen instead of opening the file by hand.
Recommended companion mod
Playing with Compound V Tweaks alongside this addon is a good idea. With both installed, every ability from Compound V Advanced shows in-game hints and control reminders, so you don't need to look anything up to figure out how a power works. If this is your first time with the addon, grab Compound V Tweaks too.
