Commerce 1.6.20 Update Notes
Changes since 1.6.17
For Minecraft Java 1.20.1, Forge 47.3.1–47.x and Java 17. Built with Forge 47.4.10. The server and every client must use the same Commerce version.
1. A/B regions
Newly paired A/B regions now use the heights of their two anchors as their vertical boundaries. Full build height is still available through the region's unlimited-Y setting, but is no longer the default for new regions. Existing full-height regions keep their saved boundaries. Delete an existing snapshot before changing a region's height setting.
Regions whose anchor endpoints touch face-to-face can be linked. Linked regions share management settings and a scheduled reset, while each region keeps its own snapshot.
2. Items entering and leaving a region
Administrators can separately prevent outside items from being brought into a region and prevent items obtained inside from being taken out. Both settings are off by default. Outside items are held temporarily and returned when the player leaves. If there is no room in the original slots or inventory, Commerce tries the player's bound delivery box; otherwise the items remain pending instead of being dropped.
These checks cover the regular inventory, equipment, offhand, Ender Chest, and readable Curios accessory and cosmetic slots. If Curios cannot be read, entry into a restricted region is refused. Items obtained inside carry a session marker. On exit or death, matching items are removed from Commerce cloud storage and the Ender Chest as well as the player's inventory. Expired marked items are also stopped when dropped or when a standard-slot mod container is opened.
This is not a blanket guarantee for every other mod's storage system. Hidden inventories and mods that strip item data may need their own compatibility work. Items placed in cloud storage before these markers existed cannot be traced retroactively.
3. External Linker and claimable certificates
The new External Linker is a slim pink terminal with a WWW sign. An administrator can place it and save up to four website entries per device. Players can view the entries and open a link in their own browser. Only HTTP and HTTPS addresses are accepted; server owners should configure trusted sites only.
Qualification Certificates and Property Certificates can now be issued without naming an owner first. They can be passed to another player, and the first holder to right-click one claims it through the server. Already claimed copies cannot be claimed again. For an unclaimed Qualification Certificate, its stated number of valid days now starts when it is first claimed, not when it was issued. This also applies to older certificates that are still unclaimed; existing claims and revocations are not reset.
4. Public displays and inflation advice
LED screens and advertising machines now have an administrator mode. An administrator can enable it with the tablet and publish without linking the display to another device. Ordinary players cannot edit or remove a display in this mode, and newly placed normal screens beside it will not merge into it. Displays left in normal mode keep their previous behavior.
When inflation risk is zero, the accounting screen no longer suggests unsupported price changes or treasury injections. Advice shown for an actual risk is based on the circulation figures and transactions Commerce has recorded.
5. Compatibility and testing
The network protocol has changed from 150 in 1.6.17 to 153 in 1.6.20. The 1.6.20 release passed a full build, 391 Forge server-side GameTests, checks for all 11 language files and the original item and block IDs.
The new model, graphical screens, real two-player use, Curios in the actual modpack, existing-world upgrades and large-region performance have not all been checked in a complete world copy. Stop the server and back up the entire world, including data/commerce_region_snapshots, along with mods, config and account or Bridge data before upgrading. Test on a copy first. If you need to roll back, restore the matching pre-upgrade world and data as well as the old JAR; changing only the JAR is not enough.
1. A/B 区域
