Description
ColoredM
16 dye colors for blocks and items that don't have them in vanilla.
What can be dyed
- Flower pots (also with a plant inside)
- Decorated pots (sherds and the stored item are kept)
- Chests (a double chest is dyed as a whole, the items stay inside)
- Barrels (the items stay inside)
- Crafting tables
- Ladders
- Lanterns
- Sea pickles
- Item frames
- Saddles
- Water
How to dye
- Right click a placed block with a dye. Everything is kept: facing, contents, the plant in a pot, pot sherds, both halves of a double chest. Uses 1 dye (none in Creative).
- Item frames: Shift + right click with a dye on a hanging frame (a plain right click puts the dye into the frame, as in vanilla).
- Crafting: the item + a dye anywhere in the grid. Already dyed items can be re-dyed the same way.
- Saddles: saddle + dye.
- Water: water bucket + dye = bucket of colored water.
Colored water
Works like normal water: you can swim in it, it puts out fire, makes obsidian and cobblestone with lava and evaporates in the Nether. Sources of different colors don't mix.
Details
- Colored chests only join into a double chest with a chest of the same color. Hoppers, comparators and so on work as usual.
- Take the plant out of a colored flower pot and you get an empty pot of the same color.
- All items are in the ColoredM creative tab. The recipes unlock in the recipe book once you have any dye.
Resource packs
The colored textures are not pre-drawn: the mod dyes the textures of your current resource pack when it loads. With Faithful and other packs, the colored blocks match the pack's style.
Limitations
- Lanterns and sea pickles keep normal white light (Minecraft has no colored light).
- Glow item frames can't be dyed.
- Sherd patterns from other mods stay undyed on colored pots.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19+, Fabric API
- Required on both the server and every client
