What's new

1.4.0 — Change the shop from chat.

Straight from a player's question: "is there a way to customise the shop so I can add and remove items and set prices?"

Operators can now edit the catalog in game, with no datapack to write and nothing to restart:

  • /coinkeep shop add <price> lists the item you are holding — stack size, custom name and enchantments included, so a named, enchanted sword sells as that exact sword.
  • /coinkeep shop price, sellprice, count, limit and category adjust anything already there.
  • /coinkeep shop remove takes an item out; restore and restoreall put it back exactly as it shipped.
  • Ids tab-complete; /coinkeep shop list and where show the tabs, the ids, and where your edits are saved.

Changes apply instantly, for everyone — no reload, no restart. Edits are saved as ordinary JSON in your world folder, laid out as a datapack, so you can copy them into another world, send them to someone, or hand-edit them. Nothing is ever destroyed, which is why restore always works.

One rule is enforced: nothing may sell for at least what it costs to buy. That would let anyone buy an item and sell it straight back for free money, so those edits are refused with an explanation.

Also new: a "Make It Your Own" page in the in-game Guide, because none of the above was discoverable from inside the game before.

Correction: the description used to say /reload applies datapack changes live. That was never true for quests, chapters, shop categories or shop entries — Minecraft builds datapack registries once, when a world loads. Datapack edits need a world reload; the commands above are the instant route.

Nothing to do on upgrade: every existing datapack and world loads unchanged.
