What's new
Changelog 1.4.1
Balance
- Fixed 1.4.0's ruin rarity change barely doing anything. Two separate worldgen features place an Ultra Ruin chest, and 1.4.0 only made one of them rarer — the other, which reads as decoration, was placing about nine chests out of every ten. The real density never moved, and because the chests themselves got richer, 1.4.0 ended up handing out more Rare Candy than 1.2.2 did.
- Both are now gated. Chests average one every 167 blocks, against roughly one every 41 in 1.2.2 and 48 in 1.4.0.
- Beast Balls are 21× rarer per chunk than in 1.2.2, Rare Candy 19× rarer.
- A chest is still worth opening: 1.3 Beast Balls on average, plus the filler and treasure pools from 1.4.0.
- Side effect worth knowing: the same feature that builds those small ruins also places the alien vegetation, so the surface is noticeably barer than it was. Nothing else about worldgen changed.
Notes
- Server-safe, as before. Return points, cooldowns and wormhole limits are tracked per player and saved to disk.
- Existing worlds keep working, but the new density only applies to chunks that have not been generated yet. Already-explored areas keep the ruins they have.
Dependencies
