What's new

0.18.1-beta — FielDex

This update is mostly about FielDex, the Field Command Wheel, UI polish, cooldown feedback, and continuing to break up some of the older oversized action/bridge code.

  • Fixed Favorite Food tiers so they now work upward as intended. Pokémon with a lower-tier preference will accept upgraded versions of that food, while Pokémon that prefer a higher tier will no longer accept the cheaper versions.
  • Added the new interactive FielDex field-stat screen, where you can browse your party and check Care, Skills, Actions, Team Support, bonuses, and other field-related information.
  • FielDex now uses native pixel-art Pokémon sprites, interactive Pokémon models, contextual tooltips, UI sounds, a proper close button, and a configurable . keybind.
  • Added synchronized one-second opening and closing animations to FielDex.
  • Completely rebuilt the V radial menu into the new Field Command Wheel. The main wheel now keeps all six party slots visible, includes a General Command branch, and gives each Pokémon its own Combat, Movement, Pokémon Actions, Care, and Synergy pages.
  • Improved wheel navigation with a proper back stack, consistent Back/Close and Next Page positions, reusable six-entry pagination, provider selection, and team-wide Active Skill aggregation.
  • FielDex and the Field Command Wheel now share the same action presentation data, while still using the existing server commands, eligibility checks, and G ping targeting system underneath.
  • Added multiline action/provider tooltips, clearer disabled-state feedback, and the supplied icons for Combat, Pokémon Actions, and Come.
  • Replaced the old fixed portrait set with Cobblemon's native Pokémon sprite library. Both FielDex and the Field Command Wheel now use the same cached renderer with crisp nearest-neighbor scaling and proper aspect-ratio handling.
  • Fixed radial portrait positioning to account for Cobblemon's half-scale icon coordinate system, so party sprites now appear centered, visible, and unstretched.
  • Kept Ghost Shift under Movement and moved Nightmare and Web Wall into Combat, without changing how those actions actually work.
  • Continued breaking up StandaloneActionEngine by extracting fishing, harvesting, Stamina Recovery, job state, and runtime logic into smaller dedicated controllers/services.
  • Added regression tests for command layouts, navigation, pagination, shared action metadata, provider aggregation, sprite resolution/fitting, and the newly extracted action runtimes.
  • Fixed General Command provider resolution. Exhausted Pokémon remain visible for Care commands, while combat/work actions only show Pokémon that can actually perform them. Exhausted Pokémon also no longer count toward synergy requirements.
  • Fixed stale party portraits occasionally leaking into later radial menus when the Field Command Wheel was closed through Escape or Cobblemon's normal close behavior.
  • Reduced Field Command Wheel party portraits by 25%, from 48×48 to 36×36 logical pixels, while keeping them crisp and centered.
  • Cleaned up the shared action catalog to better match actual runtime rules. Fairy Pokémon can now properly expose Harvest, no longer appear as invalid Berry Bloom participants, and Ice Pokémon no longer get a duplicate Preserve Food entry for the same Freeze action.
  • Removed duplicate action names/descriptions from the eligibility catalog. FielDex and the Field Command Wheel now use the command descriptor catalog as their single source for action presentation.
  • Fixed Storm Call previews so Water Pokémon can properly see the synergy, and so Fire/Water/Electric roles must come from three different Pokémon, matching the server-side execution rules.
  • Made Storm Call previews correctly handle dual-type Pokémon, and fixed Earth Refuge previews so either Ground or Rock Pokémon can satisfy its role.
  • Fixed General Sleep so it now sends the existing validated Rest command to every currently fielded Pokémon instead of only resting a single provider.
  • Connected the Field Command Wheel to the existing synchronized cooldown data for Cleanse, Repair, Web Wall, and supported team synergies.
  • Water Breathing and Teleport cooldowns are now retained client-side, allowing the Field Command Wheel to show their real remaining cooldowns instead of waiting for the server to reject the action.
  • Added the same synchronized cooldown feedback for Buff, Debuff, and player-scoped Shift actions.
  • Extended authoritative cooldown feedback to Water Spray, Updraft, Mend Wounds, and Pokémon Heal, so all valid providers stay consistently disabled until the shared cooldown actually expires.
  • Cooldown-blocked actions now remain visible in General Command pages with their remaining timer shown, while execution/provider selection still correctly excludes Pokémon that are not ready.
  • Connected the server's existing Improvised Bed cooldown data to both command-wheel paths and fixed its old synergy button so it requires two separate Bug/Grass Pokémon, including when dual types are involved.
  • Replaced the old construction wheel's separate synergy checks with the shared authoritative action catalog. This prevents a single dual-type Pokémon from incorrectly filling multiple roles for Campfire, Storm Call, Heat Wave, Earth Refuge, Improvised Bed, or Berry Bloom.
  • Continued cleaning up the action bridge by moving ore-vein/access-corridor geometry into a smaller, regression-tested tunnel planner without changing mining behavior.
  • Extracted ore standing-position selection, spatial safety checks, and path probing into a dedicated tunnel selector.
  • Extracted weight-sized ore access-corridor generation and obstruction filtering into its own tested planner.
  • Removed the old unreachable tunnel-discovery roller that had already been replaced by the tested loot-table system.
  • Removed the unused legacy encoded-coordinate Ore Mining command while keeping the live autonomous mining command and shared vein scanner.
  • Centralized tunnel bounds, fallback geometry, and mode labels into tested pure rules.
  • Moved face-relative Teleport ping targeting into the shared targeting rules and added coverage for every direction and fallback case.
  • Verified compatibility with Legendary Survival Overhaul 2.4.7.2 across temperature, resistance, wetness, thirst, localized healing, canteens, and UI assets. The local dev runtime was updated accordingly, and NeoForge metadata now accepts all compatible LSO versions from 2.4.6.2 onward.
  • Fixed Cleanse so it can restore Food Spoil freshness without removing FROZEN or THAWING state/timing data. Cook remains the action that explicitly clears those states.
  • Updated the handbook's default Field Hunger examples to match the current configuration: 120 / 90 / 60 / 45 minutes.
