Cobblemon Authentic Add-On

CobbleAuthentic expands Cobblemon with deeper progression, Poké Jobs, rivals, skill trees, legendary hunts, multiplayer raids, gym challenges, quests, exploration rewards, improved catching, and an Ender Dragon Pokémon raid built for solo or group play.!!!

CobbleAuthentic

CobbleAuthentic is a large progression and adventure expansion for Cobblemon on Fabric 1.21.1 designed to make a Pokémon-based Minecraft world feel like a complete long-term journey instead of a short collection grind. The mod connects battles, exploration, gyms, legendary encounters, Poké Jobs, quests, skill progression, multiplayer raids, hidden items, rivals, and endgame challenges into one progression system while taking advantage of content already provided by Cobblemon and compatible Cobblemon addons.

Instead of adding a completely separate game on top of Cobblemon, CobbleAuthentic is designed to work alongside the Pokémon, structures, trainers, items, and mechanics already available in a larger Cobblemon modpack.

Tamer Progression and Skill Trees

CobbleAuthentic adds a full Tamer Skill Tree system that gives players permanent progression for actively using their Pokémon.

Skill Points are primarily earned by leveling Pokémon through battles and completing Poké Jobs. Levels gained through things such as Rare Candy or EXP Candy do not provide the same battle-progression rewards, helping encourage players to actually train their teams.

There are multiple skill trees covering major areas of Pokémon gameplay, including catching, battling, breeding, exploration, and training.

Each individual skill contains 40 upgrade nodes, with every node gradually increasing that skill's effect. Skills begin around a normal x1.0 effectiveness level and can eventually reach approximately x5.0 when fully upgraded.

Node costs increase as you progress deeper into a tree, meaning early improvements are inexpensive while completing an entire skill requires significant long-term investment.

The skill trees use a custom Poké Ball-shaped interface, with each skill displayed on its own page to keep the menu easier to understand and more performance-friendly.

Skill effects include improvements such as increased capture potential, improved catch rates, better battle rewards, increased trainer battle experience, breeding bonuses, shiny-related breeding improvements, exploration bonuses, reduced hostile Pokémon behavior, increased wild battle experience, and improved EV training.

Pokémon Catching Progression

CobbleAuthentic adds a level restriction to catching Pokémon to stop players from immediately obtaining extremely powerful Pokémon and skipping the intended progression.

A wild Pokémon can only be caught if it is no more than 10 levels higher than the highest-level Pokémon currently in your party.

For example, if your strongest Pokémon is level 25, the highest Pokémon you can currently catch is level 35.

This restriction is checked server-side and also applies to Pokémon created through commands or other mod systems, making it much harder to bypass progression simply by spawning a high-level Pokémon and throwing a Poké Ball at it.

As your Pokémon become stronger, your catching limit naturally increases with them.

Pokédex Scanning Improvements

Pokédex scanning has been improved to make researching Pokémon less frustrating while still keeping the mechanic meaningful.

Scanning works from approximately 10 blocks farther away, scan speed has been increased, and looking away from the target no longer immediately destroys your progress.

If you temporarily look away, your scan can remain paused for several seconds and resume if you look back at the Pokémon, making scanning moving Pokémon much easier.

Poké Jobs

CobbleAuthentic includes a large Poké Job system accessed through the Cobblemon PC.

There are hundreds of possible job titles across many categories. Players receive a rotating selection of jobs rather than having access to every job simultaneously.

A job board presents six jobs at a time, and that selection remains consistent for the player during the current refresh period.

Players select a Pokémon to send on a job. While assigned to that job, the Pokémon is treated as unavailable until the job is finished or returned.

Completing jobs can provide experience, items from compatible Cobblemon mods, and Tamer Skill Points.

Pokémon that match preferred job types can receive increased experience rewards.

Job rewards are designed to pull from the actual items already registered by Cobblemon and compatible addons instead of flooding the modpack with unnecessary duplicate items.

Extremely progression-breaking rewards such as Master Balls are intentionally excluded from ordinary Poké Job reward pools.

Rival System

After receiving your starter Pokémon, players can encounter their own persistent Pokémon rival.

Players choose a name for their rival, and the rival receives a starter Pokémon that has a type advantage against the player's starter.

The rival's team scales as the player progresses.

Rival encounters can appear around compatible village content, creating recurring trainer battles throughout the adventure.

If you lose, the rival remains available for another attempt rather than permanently disappearing. Defeating another player's rival also does not permanently remove that rival for its actual owner.

Gym and League Progression

CobbleAuthentic integrates Pokémon Gym progression with Minecraft's advancement system.

The eight classic Kanto-style badge milestones include battles corresponding to:

Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine, and Giovanni.

Each badge has its own advancement, and collecting the full set contributes toward larger league-related challenges.

The mod also supports Elite Four progression, including tracking repeated Elite Four completions for advanced objectives and legendary encounter systems.

Legendary Pokémon Progression

Legendary Pokémon are integrated into a much larger exploration and progression system.

CobbleAuthentic tracks legendary monuments and structures provided by compatible Cobblemon addons and creates advancements for discovering or completing them.

Supported legendary encounters are tracked per player.

For many supported legendary Pokémon, once a player successfully catches that species, that legendary becomes permanently recorded for that player.

If the legendary is defeated, escapes, or the encounter otherwise fails before capture, completing the Elite Four can unlock another opportunity to challenge it.

This creates a progression loop where failed legendary encounters are recoverable without making legendary Pokémon infinitely farmable after they have been successfully caught.

Species such as Latias and Latios are tracked separately, as are Pokémon such as Glastrier and Spectrier.

Legendary and Structure Exploration

CobbleAuthentic adds extensive advancement support for legendary locations and exploration structures.

Dozens of legendary monument Pokémon are represented, alongside structures and locations from compatible exploration addons.

Additional tracked locations can include places such as Bell Tower, Sea Mauville, Snowpoint Temple, Desert Ruins, Cave Island, Ancient Tomb, The Under, Sky Pillar, and many other Pokémon-themed structures.

The advancement tree has been reorganized so that the large amount of content remains manageable instead of creating an enormous impossible-to-navigate advancement screen.

Quest Journal

A large Quest Journal ties many of the mod's systems together.

The journal contains well over one hundred curated objectives along with compatible advancement-based objectives detected from the modpack.

Quest categories can include legendary sites, exploration structures, Poké Jobs, rivals, gyms, challenges, hidden-item hunting, helper battles, raids, and other progression systems.

The journal is designed to give players a clear idea of what they can work toward next rather than leaving the modpack as an open-ended collection of unrelated addons.

Completionist Endgame

Reaching high-level progression does not mean the mod immediately runs out of objectives.

CobbleAuthentic includes a dedicated Completionist progression system for players who reach the late game.

Once the appropriate progression level is reached, the Completionist section tracks unfinished long-term goals across the entire adventure.

These goals include large numbers of hidden items discovered, hundreds of Poké Jobs completed, helper battles, raid encounters, Elite Four clears, legendary captures, structure completion, gym progress, advancement percentages, quest completion, and other mastery objectives.

There are dozens of permanent endgame challenges designed to give long-running survival servers something meaningful to work toward.

Multiplayer Ender Dragon Pokémon Raid

The traditional End progression has been reworked into a special Ender Dragon Pokémon Raid.

Instead of the vanilla Ender Dragon being the primary required final boss, players challenge an Ender Dragon-inspired Pokémon boss through a multiplayer raid-den encounter.

The raid uses the existing compatible Cobblemon Raid Dens multiplayer system so multiple trainers can participate in the same encounter and contribute their own Pokémon.

The boss uses a custom Ender Dragon-inspired appearance with features such as a blockier dragon head, purple eyes, large wings, four legs, a larger body, and a long tail so it resembles Minecraft's Ender Dragon more closely than a normal Pokémon model.

Players join the raid normally and can wait for everyone to enter before manually beginning the battle.

The boss difficulty dynamically scales according to the number of actual players participating in the raid with usable Pokémon.

A solo player receives a version balanced around being beatable with a properly prepared full Pokémon party, while additional trainers increase the boss's health and overall challenge.

The scaling is intentionally less aggressive than simply multiplying health directly by the number of players, so bringing friends still provides a meaningful advantage.

Up to several trainers can participate in the same shared raid, with each player's Pokémon contributing toward defeating the same boss.

The Ender Dragon raid boss itself cannot be caught.

Defeating the raid counts as defeating The End, activates the End exit progression, allows the normal End progression to continue, and awards the appropriate participating players the equivalent of Minecraft's Free the End progression.

The stronghold End Portal used to enter The End remains functional normally.

Helper and Horde Battles

CobbleAuthentic improves several cooperative and multi-Pokémon battle situations.

Healing items can be used during supported helper battles, but using an item consumes the player's action for that turn.

Players cannot repeatedly spam healing items during the same turn, and healing does not bypass normal fainted-Pokémon replacement requirements.

The mod also supports battle systems involving multiple Pokémon and cooperative encounters while attempting to preserve the mechanics provided by the underlying Cobblemon battle systems.

Improved Run / Escape System

Running from wild battles uses a more predictable level-based formula.

When the battling Pokémon are approximately equal in level, the escape chance is around 50%.

Each level advantage or disadvantage changes the chance by approximately one percentage point, with minimum and maximum limits preventing completely impossible or guaranteed escape situations.

The Run button can display the current estimated escape chance directly in the battle interface.

A successful escape immediately ends the encounter, while a failed attempt consumes the player's action.

Hidden Item and Exploration Improvements

CobbleAuthentic includes progression for discovering hidden items throughout the world.

The item-finding system is designed to work automatically rather than requiring players to constantly toggle a tracking mode.

Hidden-item discovery also contributes toward long-term Completionist milestones, giving exploration a reason to remain important even after players already have powerful teams.

Custom Poké Discs

The mod includes a collection of custom Poké Disc items designed to integrate with jukebox-style music systems.

These discs use Pokémon-inspired textures and naming while relying on compatible audio/event systems rather than bundling copyrighted official Pokémon music.

A Blank Poké Disc and related crafting functionality are also included.

Advancement Improvements

CobbleAuthentic heavily expands Minecraft's advancement system but also includes changes intended to keep it usable.

Advancement categories have been reorganized and condensed so large branches do not stretch excessively across the screen.

Scrolling bounds are also adjusted when CobbleAuthentic's large advancement trees are present, allowing players to properly navigate the expanded progression system.

Designed for Modpack Integration

One of CobbleAuthentic's main goals is to use existing content instead of unnecessarily recreating it.

When another compatible mod already provides a Pokémon item, structure, raid system, trainer, currency, breeding mechanic, or exploration feature, CobbleAuthentic attempts to integrate that content into its own progression systems.

Depending on the features being used, CobbleAuthentic can integrate with mods such as Cobblemon, Cobblemon Raid Dens, Legendary Monuments, Fight or Flight, RCT Mod/RCT API, Cobblemon Additions, Cobblemon Extra Structures, Mega Showdown, CobbleDollars, Cobbreeding, CobbleCuisine, CobbleFurnies, Cobblemon Battle Extras, Cobblemon MoveDex, Cobblemon Size Variation, Cobblemon Knowlogy, CobbleNav, SimpleTMs, More Cobblemon Tweaks, and other compatible Cobblemon addons.

Overall Goal

CobbleAuthentic is built for players who want a longer and more structured Cobblemon survival experience.

Instead of simply catching a starter, building a strong team, catching a few legendaries, and being finished, the mod encourages players to continuously train Pokémon, improve their Tamer Skills, complete jobs, defeat rivals and Gym Leaders, explore Pokémon structures, discover hidden items, challenge legendary encounters, participate in multiplayer raids, defeat the Ender Dragon Pokémon boss, complete quests, and eventually work toward full Completionist mastery.

The goal is to make a Cobblemon world feel more like a complete Pokémon adventure while still remaining deeply connected to normal Minecraft survival and the rest of the Cobblemon modpack.
