What's new

CobbleClash 1.0.0-rc.9 — Beta

Minecraft 1.21.1 · Fabric · Java 21 · Cobblemon 1.8.2+1.21.1

Currently available for singleplayer and LAN. This is a release candidate, not the final 1.0. Host and clients must use the same CobbleClash version. Back up your world and replace the previous JAR; keep only one CobbleClash JAR in mods.

New in RC9: animated mastery preview

  • The mastery pass now previews the selected entrance effect beside your Pokémon, using the choreography of all 20 rewards.
  • Formation, appearance and fading play in an automatic loop. Clicking a reward again restarts the preview.
  • The preview adapts to the available GUI space, retains the rank insignia and is clipped away from descriptions and buttons.
  • Browsing a preview does not claim or equip a reward. Unlocks and equipment remain server-validated.

Included updates since the previous CurseForge RC3

Mastery and entrances

  • Permanent, free player-wide mastery pass shared by the entire team: 20 milestones from Bronze to Master, with claim/equip controls in Cobblemon's Summary screen.
  • One-time migration takes the highest legacy mastery in party/PC and preserves the original individual data.
  • Qualified ranked player duels and enabled ranked NPC encounters award progress; wild encounters, Alphas and raids provide smaller, contribution/level-weighted gains with persistent daily caps and anti-farming receipts.
  • Twenty individually themed entrances: fire, silver swords, snow, solar bursts, amber/diamond/amethyst crystals, orbital planets, silver/jade/aurora portals, Alpha/Omega-inspired sigils, prismatic rain, a reality rift, nebula, opal, eclipse and a three-dimensional black-hole presentation.
  • Pixel-art rank insignias, bounded geometry/particles and an option to reduce world-effect details.

Trainer and Pokémon AI

  • Trainers and duo/trio allies interleave moves with basic attacks and can use a basic fallback when no suitable offensive move is available.
  • Hybrid Pokémon close distance when ranged moves are cooling down or blocked. Move selection respects tactical restrictions.
  • Eligible trainers use Mega, Dynamax, Gigantamax or Terastal through installed native integration, with one successful transformation per encounter and limited retries. Explicit editor choices, including NONE, remain respected.
  • Natural/custom trainers receive finite healing/status support by difficulty. RCT retains its native bag and limits.
  • AI Pokémon can consume recognized equipped healing/status Berries. Allies do not automatically spend the player's transformation energy or take potions from the player's bag.
  • Programmed moves are explicitly applied to natural teams and new presets. Gigantamax starts at a safe scale when its native form requires reduction.

NPC editor, battle openings and fixes

  • Optional ranked connection battles for custom NPCs, with configurable reward intervals in Minecraft days or real minutes/hours/days.
  • Custom NPCs also support native turn-based battles, configured moves and rewards; turn-based battles do not award pass progress.
  • Administrative mastery grant command for a valid party slot now grants the owner's shared pass.
  • Right-clicking an existing custom NPC with the Trainer Editor edits that NPC instead of creating a duplicate.
  • Trainer battles and duels stage Pokémon at safe separated positions. Entrance origins remain synchronized after staging.
  • Mega raid bosses retain adaptive size/arena checks. Existing combat, XP sharing, capture and reward rules are preserved unless described above.

Requirements and validation limits

Required: Fabric API and Cobblemon with Cobblemon's own dependencies. Optional features depend on the relevant addons: Mega Showdown, Raid Dens, RCT/RCT API and Tim Core. No NeoForge or future Minecraft/Cobblemon compatibility is claimed. Extra Move Animations and Particular are not required for bundled visuals.

The RC9 client/server test exercised all 20 menu previews, 40 animation phases, small GUI layout, restart interaction and unchanged equipped reward. RC8 native tests exercised AI combat, items, forms and trainer reward regressions. These are automated isolated Minecraft tests, not certification of every modpack, shader, species, latency or human multiplayer scenario. The final 1.0 remains pending further validation.
