Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Added
- Trackside Sensor. A new block that watches a beam across the track and reports the speed of passing carts as an analog redstone signal. Crafted from an Optical Sensor and a Speedometer.
- It cannot miss a cart. Detection runs with the physics rather than the block tick, so it catches carts at any speed — the thing the existing sensors cannot do.
- Speed as a signal. Set which speed counts as a full signal on the sensor's Max Speed value box, and read it with dust or a comparator. Engineer's Goggles show the last reading in m/s.
- Display support. Point a Display Link at the sensor and pick Cart Speed to show speeds on a Display Board or Nixie Tubes. The reading holds until the next train, rounded to whole blocks per second.
- Ponder scenes for the sensor and for wiring one up to a display.
Changed
- Speed sliders renamed. The brake slider is now Brake Target Speed and the launch slider Launch Target Speed — both set a speed to reach, and the old "Brake Speed" read as though it set how hard the brakes bit.
- Status lamps now report redstone. A lit lamp means the run is powered, on launch and brake hardware alike. Because brakes are fail-safe, a brake that is gripping now sits dark — previously the same lamp meant opposite things on the two systems.
- Separate slider bounds. The brake slider had been bounded by the launch speed config option; it now has its own.
