Coal Motorboat
A coal-powered motorboat for Fabric: two seats, a chest and about 3× the speed of a regular boat.
Tired of paddling across the ocean? Bolt a blast furnace onto a chest boat and go full throttle.
Features
- About 3× faster than a vanilla boat while the engine is running (up to ~22 blocks/s)
- Runs on coal: coal or charcoal gives 80 seconds of full throttle, and a coal block gives 12 minutes. Fuel is only burned while you hold W.
- Two seats + a 27-slot chest, so it's great for trips with a friend and for hauling loot
- Fuel gauge while driving: time of fuel left and current speed are shown above your hotbar, with a warning when you run dry
- Looks the part: bigger hull, a blast furnace engine that lights up while running, a windshield and a barrel at the bow
- Every wood type: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, pale oak and poplar. The motorboat keeps the wood of the chest boat you craft it from.
- Smooth ride: with the engine on, currents don't push you around and the boat doesn't bounce over waves
- Climbs water stairs: full throttle takes you up flowing-water staircases block by block, instead of sinking
- Engine sound, smoke and splash particles
- Without fuel it still works as a normal (slow) boat
How to use
- Craft the Motorboat (recipe below).
- Place it on water and Shift + right-click it to open the chest. Put coal, charcoal or coal blocks inside.
- Get in and hold W. The engine burns fuel from the chest automatically.
