Cinematic Interact First Person Compat
Keep your first-person body during normal play, and let Cinematic Interactions take over during its scenes.
This independent client-side addon temporarily suppresses FirstPerson Model while Cinematic Interactions runs a scene. It follows the actual scene state through approach, interaction and the return transition. When the scene finishes or is cancelled, FirstPerson resumes according to your own toggle. If you had disabled FirstPerson before the scene, it stays disabled afterwards.
No modpack is required. Use it in your own instance or include an approved official release in your modpack under the MIT license.
Features
- Follows the real INTRO, ACTIVE and OUTRO scene states.
- Preserves the player's FirstPerson enabled setting.
- Covers workstation scenes and addon scenes that use Cinematic Interactions' shared active-scene lifecycle, without a per-block whitelist.
- Keeps Cinematic Interactions' own animated hands and scene visuals available.
- Registers one activation handler through FirstPerson Model's API. No upstream JAR patches, simulated keys, network protocol or added tick polling.
- Stays inactive if either integration is absent. Invalid configuration and unsupported APIs produce a log message instead of forcing an enabled state. Unexpected scene API failures release suppression and stop repeated render-time errors.
This addon coordinates these two mods. It does not add workstation scenes or promise fixes for unrelated camera/body-rendering mods.
Optional integrations
First-person Model and Cinematic Interactions are listed as Optional Dependencies so you can see which mods this addon integrates with without forcing their installation. Both must be present for the compatibility feature to activate. Minecraft can start without either one; the addon simply stays inactive.
Choose the correct download
| Loader | Minecraft targets | Release status |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | 1.21 through 1.21.11; 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3 | Beta |
| NeoForge | 1.21.1 | Beta |
| Forge | 1.20.1 | Beta |
Install one addon JAR matching your loader, plus matching versions of FirstPerson Model and Cinematic Interactions. Keep their own dependencies installed, including the correct Fabric API where required. Use Java 21 for 1.21.x, Java 25 for the listed 26.x releases, and Java 17 for Forge 1.20.1.
The integration methods have been checked in public upstream binaries for all 18 listed loader/game combinations. This is a beta: API checks do not replace live testing of every Minecraft release or every possible mod combination. Live scene lifecycle and enabled/disabled-toggle restoration were verified in independent Fabric 1.21.1, NeoForge 1.21.1 and Forge 1.20.1 clients. Other tagged Fabric versions remain API-checked beta targets.
Download the complete MIT source archive, including all three loaders, build scripts, tests and VERIFICATION.md. This additional file is source code, not an installable mod.
Singleplayer and servers
Install this addon on the client. A dedicated server does not need it. Follow Cinematic Interactions' own client/server installation requirements for the scene mode you use. This addon follows the active scene; it does not grant functionality absent from the underlying cinematic mode.
Configuration
The first compatible startup creates config/cinematic-firstperson-compat.properties. Set enabled=true or enabled=false, then restart Minecraft. Existing config contents are preserved; an invalid value disables this addon without overwriting the file. There are no controls to bind or per-world commands to run.
Bug reports
Use this project's comments and include your Minecraft version, loader/version, both upstream mod versions, addon version and steps to reproduce. Remove authentication tokens and private server information before sharing logs.
