Description
Chronicles of Logres
A hundred winters ago, King Arthur fought the usurper Vortigern on the high meadow of Logres. Dying from a coward's blow, Arthur drove Excalibur into Merlin's warded stone - and froze Vortigern beside it. Now Merlin lies wounded and hunted, and the sword waits for a worthy hand.
Chronicles of Logres is a story-driven quest built on the islands of Ruins of Logres.
The quest
- The bell in the mist - somewhere out in the world a faint bell tolls. Follow it to Merlin's cabin, clear out the Saxon raiders who have broken in, and find the old man hiding upstairs.
- Save Merlin - he begs for a healing potion as raiders close in. Hold them off and heal him in time.
- Cross the water to the isle of Logres.
- The sword in the stone - on the high meadow, among three great swords, Excalibur sleeps in the stone beside Vortigern's statue. Only someone carrying Merlin's blessing can draw it.
- The usurper wakes - draw the blade and defeat the usurper.
Features
- Excalibur - a glowing legendary blade with its own Epic Fight skill, Judgement of Avalon.
- Blade of Vortigern and the Crown of Vortigern - dropped by the usurper when he falls.
- Saxon Raiders - hostile warbands roaming the islands, raiding supply carts and hunting Merlin.
- Places to explore - Camelot in ruins, villages with markets, ruined chapels, Merlin's tower, raided supply carts, lone houses, harbours and coastal boardwalks, and old trails that carve across the land.
- ~30 lore books - journals, letters, ledgers and orders scattered in chests, on lecterns and in item frames, slowly piecing the story together. Merlin's own journal waits in his cabin.
