Check Engine

Your modpack's check engine light. Crash, missing mod, broken recipe or "Invalid player data" kick? It tells you what broke and how to fix it, in plain English. Undo bad updates, find the faulty mod, back up and rescue your worlds. Never touches gameplay.

What's new

Check Engine 0.16.2

New: recipe check (type /checkengine scan)
- Finds recipe clashes: recipes with the same ingredients but different results, so only one ever works
- Finds recipes nobody can craft because a slot asks for an empty tag
- Lists quest items and ingredients nothing gives (often mob drops, worth a look)
- Easy to read: grouped by item, with mod names
- Click [Open report] in chat to see it in game

New: known crashes
- Crash Doctor knows crashes other people already solved and shows their fix first

New: Fix it on the can't-join screen
- Switches off the mods the server doesn't have and opens the Modrinth pages of the ones you need
- Nothing is deleted, and Undo puts everything back

Fixes
- Running scan, export or startup on a server no longer kicks the player
- Low memory is caught before it crashes, even when the pack page recommends too little
- Crash Doctor shows up even when another mod covers the title screen
- "Changed since it last worked" lists a mod's config folder as one line
- The 26.1 version also works on Minecraft 26.2
- Check Engine never goes online
