Changed: Synergy 0.1.1-beta.1
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Changed: Synergy 0.1.1-beta.1
This beta adds absorption takeover, faction diplomacy, gaze-based hypnosis, creature armor, and several new configuration options.
Changed: Synergy has also passed 1,000 downloads on CurseForge! Thank you to everyone who has played the mod, reported issues, shared ideas, and helped test new builds!
Absorption takeover
- Added a configurable takeover system for qualifying absorption encounters.
- A latex creature may retain control after absorbing a player who started the conflict. Competitive and show-off personalities may also initiate a takeover.
- During a takeover, the player observes from inside while the creature moves and follows its usual behavior.
- Added a takeover radial menu for requesting temporary control or attempting one forced escape.
- A successful escape immediately releases the player and briefly stuns the creature. A failed attempt causes the player to lose consciousness before waking in a safe location.
- Proactive takeovers and punitive containment use different dialogue and control-sharing behavior.
- Non-hostile takeover outcomes may compensate the player with oranges.
- Added the Localhost breakout advancement.
/untfand/untransfurcan forcibly end an active takeover.- When takeover is disabled, absorption continues to use the negotiation system.
Exoskeleton mechanics
- Added Exoskeleton takeover for players in Benign Wolf or Benign Orca form.
- Exoskeleton takeover does not allow negotiation, borrowed control, or escape attempts.
- The Exoskeleton controls the player's movement and view while wandering on its own.
- Added yellow and pink hypnosis visuals while a benign-form player wears an Exoskeleton.
- Added separate configuration options for Exoskeleton hypnosis visuals, takeover, and unconsciousness.
- If Exoskeleton unconsciousness is disabled, control returns when the takeover timer ends without forcing the player to sleep or removing the Exoskeleton.
Hypnosis
- Reworked Synergy hypnosis around gaze and resistance instead of button prompts.
- Hypnotic creatures pull the player's view toward their eyes.
- Direct eye contact strengthens the effect, while repeatedly looking away builds resistance.
- Filling the resistance meter breaks the hypnosis. Failing to resist causes Mesmerized.
- Hypnotic creatures can speak clearly during hypnosis even before permanent telepathy is unlocked.
Factions and reputation
- Added seven linked faction rivalries: Dark and White, Mountain and Cave, Aquatic and Desert, Forest and Badlands, Taiga and Jungle, Swamp and Savanna, and Plains and Snowy.
- Forming an alliance with one faction can affect the player's standing with its rival, but peaceful relations with every faction remain possible.
- Added optional pursuit squads when a player's reputation with a faction reaches its minimum.
- Pursuit squads use faction-specific warnings and respect Peaceful difficulty, mob-spawning rules, and post-transfur protection.
- Updated faction advancement requirements to account for the diplomacy system.
- Added a gamerule for the initial reputation assigned when a player first encounters a faction.
Social interactions and equipment
- Human players can use up to two light, bare-handed hits to tell an approaching creature to back away.
- Competitive creatures may treat this as a challenge instead. Heavy attacks, weapons, and repeated hits still count as aggression.
- Added a configuration option that disables pacification through patting without disabling ordinary pat interactions.
- Voluntary transfur now requires the highest friendship tier.
- Close friends can access a creature's inventory without forming an exclusive bond.
- Friends and bonded creatures can be equipped by sneak-right-clicking them while holding compatible armor.
- Armor must fit the creature's body shape and can only be placed in an empty equipment slot.
- Juvenile dark latex wolves retain their normal interactions but cannot open Synergy's radial menus until they become adults.
Sleeping and post-transfur protection
- Added special dialogue and the Latex Pajamas advancement for sleeping while wrapped by a bonded creature or absorber.
- Sleeping can reverse organic transformations that cannot be removed through negotiation.
- Added a configurable post-transfur ceasefire. Setting its duration to
0disables it. - Players affected by an involuntary secondary transfur temporarily cannot harm members of the responsible faction.
Communities and interface options
- Added configurable minimum spacing between independently claimed outposts. Compatible nearby creatures can share an existing outpost.
- Added separate height controls for dialogue popups and scrolling dialogue.
- Setting the telepathy unlock requirement to
0now prevents transfur from permanently unlocking telepathy.
Relationship persistence
- Named, tamed, bonded, and befriended latex creatures are now preserved when the world is switched to Peaceful difficulty.
- Contact records are removed when a creature permanently ceases to exist, including removal methods other than ordinary death.
- Creatures that have become hostile through betrayal no longer initiate friendly pat interactions.
Existing-system fixes
- Improved the consistency of relationship records when creatures are permanently removed from the world.
Compatibility
- Added Better Combat 1.9.0 compatibility. Hidden creatures providing friendly wrapping are no longer treated as attack targets, preventing them from interfering with mining and combat-state detection.
- Added coexistence compatibility for Furmutage 0.1 and Changed: Survive Protocol 1.2.0. Their creatures do not participate in Synergy systems.
- Experiment 009 Boss, Experiment 10 Boss, Foxyas, Void Fox, and both boss variants of the Luminarctic Leopard from Changed Addon Plus are excluded from Synergy systems.
- Updated the network protocol for 0.1.1-beta.1. Clients and servers must use the same Synergy version.
