Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

About Carcosan Skies
Carcosan Skies is an eldritch ritual mod where you can discover forgotten knowledge, draw rituals in chalk, and make contact with unknowable beings who dwell only in the furthest reaches of the abyss!
This mod is in early development! There are currently three patron paths with four circles each, alongside plenty of discoverable rituals, item imprints, and more. However, development is still ongoing! (Each patron’s progression is planned to eventually span a full nine circles) Future updates will expand the mod’s content while bringing fixes, polish, and likely balance changes.
Main features:
Chalk Rituals: Build ritual diagrams directly on the ground using a selection of Nordic runes, unique symbols, and connecting strokes. Arrange the required offerings and activate the finished circle. Your Necronomicon and tattered parchments let you reference diagrams while drawing, so you don't have to memorize everything.
Three Eldritch Patrons: Contract with three unique eldritch entities and progress through four circles of increasingly powerful gifts. Each patron grants a different selection of abilities and passive boons.
Aspects & Boons: Each patron grants its own collection of active powers and passive gifts, earned through sacrifice as you ascend through its circles. Choose which to equip through your Necronomicon and experiment with how they work together.
Item Imprints: Give familiar items new uses through rituals. Turn a fishing rod into a grappling tool, swap places with a target through a spyglass, or ride a boat through the fabric of reality and into the astral plane!
The Necronomicon: Keep discovered rituals in one place, follow your patron's path, and manage your aspects and boons.
Getting Started:
Craft a Necronomicon and some chalk to get started! Tattered parchments are also scattered around, each containing a ritual diagram that can be recreated in the world. With the right offerings, these chalk circles can grant useful effects, imbue your equipment with unique abilities, or let you form contracts with incomprehensible eldritch beings whose mere existence could shatter the human mind. Fun!
Tips and Tricks:
Eldritch magic is a precise art, and it is easy to make mistakes when drawing out your chalk. A recognized ritual will glow red. This confirms the diagram is correct, but you may still need to prepare its offerings or meet its other requirements.
Making Contracts:Ordinary ritual knowledge can be found on parchments; However, the knowledge needed to approach a patron requires a different path. Unique items tied to certain eldritch beings are scattered around the world. Hint: Combining or using them in certain ways can lead to unique effects...
After your first contract:Further ascension must be earned through sacrifice. Consult your patron’s section in your Necronomicon for their sacrifice ritual. When a ritual calls for the Sacrificial Dagger, use it on the catalyst to attune it, then inspect the dagger’s tooltip for its requirements. Fulfilling those and returning the dagger to the ritual will complete the offering, granting you knowledge on how to ascend to the next circle.
