Universal Adaptive Backporter Integration (1.7.10)

Brewin' & Chewin': Classic Edition includes optional integration with Universal Adaptive Backporter (UAB), making additional original brewing and fermentation recipes accessible on Minecraft 1.7.10.

Many of the original addon's recipes use ingredients introduced in later Minecraft updates. UAB supplies these resources, allowing more of the original food and beverage progression to function without replacing ingredients with unrelated alternatives.

Additional Functionality with UAB

• Honey: Unlocks original fermentation recipes such as Mead and other honey-dependent beverages.
• Glow Berries and Glow Ink: Enables original recipes such as Glittering Grenadine.
• Kelp and Dried Kelp: Supports recipes including Kimchi, Kippers, and other fermented foods.
• Sea Pickles: Enables applicable recipes such as Pickled Pickles and Salty Folly.
• Nether Fungi: Restores ingredients used by recipes such as Scarlet Cheese, Steel Toe Stout, and Red Rum.
• Beetroot: Supports original vegetable-based fermentation recipes, including Strongroot Ale.
• Honeycomb and Other Modern Ingredients: Restores applicable equipment, cheese-related, and beverage recipes, including Tankards and additional specialty drinks.
• Stripped Logs and Tree Bark: Enables original tree-bark acquisition through axe processing for recipes such as Pale Jane.
• Additional Brewing Ingredients: Recognizes compatible UAB resources and legacy equivalents, including reeds for original sugar-cane recipe requirements.

How Compatibility Works

UAB is completely optional.

Brewin' & Chewin' retains its core fermentation systems, Keg processing, and recipes without requiring Universal Adaptive Backporter.

When UAB is installed, additional original recipes become available whenever their required ingredients are present and enabled.

The integration preserves the original recipe requirements rather than inventing substitutes or duplicating modern Minecraft items.

Recipes with missing ingredients, serving containers, or processing requirements remain deferred until their dependencies are satisfied.

UAB's individual feature settings are respected, so disabling a modern ingredient also prevents recipes depending on that ingredient from being activated.

Some advanced beverage recipes require multiple ingredients or intermediate products. Installing UAB does not automatically guarantee that every original recipe becomes available.

UAB integration is currently specific to Minecraft Forge 1.7.10.
