Blueprint Share

Send your builds to your friends with shareable codes. Supports modded blocks, block states, block entities and NBT data.

Blueprint Share

Have you ever seen an incredible vehicle or contraption made with Create Aeronautics and thought, “Whoa, that’s so cool! But I could never build something like that. I wish there were an easy way to share vehicles and contraptions between worlds.”

Well, now there is!

Blueprint Share lets you copy Minecraft builds into portable share codes, save them for later, recreate them in another world, or send them directly to other players.

Select a region using the Blueprint Wand, export it as a share code, and paste that code wherever you want to use the build. Before placement, Blueprint Share displays a movable and rotatable preview so you can position everything precisely.

The mod copies ordinary blocks, block states, and supported Block Entity data while performing safety checks to protect the destination world.

Blueprint Share was created primarily with Create Aeronautics compatibility in mind. However, assembled contraptions and active physics vehicles must first be disassembled or otherwise returned to block form before they can be exported.

Features

  • Convert selected builds into portable text codes

  • Share blueprints without exchanging worlds or schematic files

  • Preview builds before placing them

Getting the Blueprint Wand

Enter a world and run:

/wand

The Blueprint Wand will be added to your inventory.

The wand uses two positions to define the rectangular area you want to export.

Selecting a Build

Selecting Existing Blocks

Hold the Blueprint Wand in your main hand.

Left-click a block to set Position 1.

Right-click another block to set Position 2.

Everything inside the rectangular area between those positions becomes part of the selection.

Both selected corner blocks are included.

Selecting Positions in the Air

The Blueprint Wand can also select empty positions. This allows you to create a selection without requiring a solid block at each corner.

Hold the Blueprint Wand and aim into the air.

A highlighted target position will appear in front of you.

Use the mouse wheel to adjust the distance of the target.

Left-click to set Position 1.

Right-click to set Position 2.

The air target begins eight blocks away and can be adjusted from 2 to 64 blocks.

Mouse-wheel distance adjustment is active only while holding the Blueprint Wand, aiming into the air, and not currently positioning an imported blueprint.

Blueprint Wand Controls

Left-click: Set Position 1

Right-click: Set Position 2

Mouse wheel up: Move the air target farther away

Mouse wheel down: Move the air target closer

Exporting a Build

After selecting Position 1 and Position 2, press B to open the Blueprint Share menu.

Select Export Selected Region.

Blueprint Share will copy every supported block inside the selected area and generate a portable ESHARE1 code.

When the code screen appears, select Copy Code to copy the entire share code to your clipboard.

Once the blueprint has been exported, it is also added automatically to the Saved Blueprints section. You do not need to name the blueprint for it to be saved or used later. However, giving it a recognizable name will make it much easier to find when your library becomes larger.

You can now send the copied code to another player, paste it into a message, or keep it for use in another world.

Blueprint codes can be very long, so using the built-in Copy Code button is strongly recommended.

Saved Blueprints

Press B and select Saved Blueprints to access builds that you previously exported or imported.

Each saved blueprint displays its name, dimensions, and block count.

Select a blueprint from the list to load it and begin the import process.

Select Edit if you want to rename the blueprint, copy its code, or delete it from your library.

From the editing screen, you can:

  • Change the blueprint’s name

  • Copy its share code

  • Delete the blueprint

  • Return to the Saved Blueprints list

Blueprints are saved automatically, even if you do not rename them.

Use the Previous and Next buttons to move between pages when you have many saved blueprints.

Importing a Blueprint

Press B to open the Blueprint Share menu.

Select Import Code.

If the code is already copied to your clipboard, select Paste Clipboard. You can also paste an ESHARE1 code directly into the share-code field.

After entering the code, select Import & Check.

Blueprint Share will verify the code and check whether the required blocks and modded content are available.

If everything is available, an in-world preview of the blueprint will appear.

If some content is missing, Blueprint Share will display a compatibility screen before creating the preview.

Valid manually imported codes are also saved automatically in your Saved Blueprints library.

Understanding the Preview

The in-world preview allows you to inspect and position the blueprint before placing any blocks.

The preview displays useful information such as:

  • Blueprint dimensions

  • Current rotation

  • Missing block count

  • Placement collisions

  • Available controls

Move and rotate the preview until it is positioned correctly.

If the preview overlaps existing blocks, move it to an empty area before attempting placement.

Very large blueprints may use a simplified preview to preserve performance.

Moving a Blueprint Preview

Blueprint previews can be moved one block at a time using the arrow, Page Up, and Page Down keys.

Left Arrow: Move one block toward negative X

Right Arrow: Move one block toward positive X

Up Arrow: Move one block toward negative Z

Down Arrow: Move one block toward positive Z

Page Up: Move the blueprint one block upward

Page Down: Move the blueprint one block downward

You can hold one of these keys to continue moving the blueprint in that direction.

The arrow keys follow the world’s X and Z axes rather than the direction the player is facing.

Moving a Preview to the Crosshair

Press G to move the blueprint directly to the position at your crosshair.

When looking at a block, the preview moves to the empty position beside the targeted face.

When looking into the air, the preview moves approximately eight blocks in front of the camera.

After using G, you can make precise adjustments with the arrow, Page Up, and Page Down keys.

Rotating a Blueprint Preview

Press R to rotate the blueprint 90 degrees clockwise.

Press Shift + R to rotate the blueprint 90 degrees counterclockwise.

Rotation keeps the blueprint centered around approximately the same position. This makes it easier to compare different orientations without having to reposition the entire blueprint after every rotation.

Complete Preview Controls

G: Move the blueprint to your crosshair

R: Rotate 90 degrees clockwise

Shift + R: Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise

Left Arrow: Move toward negative X

Right Arrow: Move toward positive X

Up Arrow: Move toward negative Z

Down Arrow: Move toward positive Z

Page Up: Move upward

Page Down: Move downward

Enter: Place the blueprint

X: Cancel the preview

Placing a Blueprint

Once the preview is positioned correctly, press Enter to place the blueprint.

Before placing anything, Blueprint Share checks the destination for collisions, unavailable chunks, world-border limits, build-height limits, missing content, and invalid Block Entity data.

If the destination is safe, placement begins.

Large blueprints may be placed over multiple game ticks to reduce performance problems.

If the destination changes while placement is in progress or a block cannot be restored safely, Blueprint Share attempts to roll back the blocks that were already placed.

Missing Mods or Content

When an imported blueprint references unavailable blocks or modded content, Blueprint Share opens a compatibility review screen.

You can either cancel the import or select Place Anyway.

Selecting Place Anyway skips only the unavailable blocks. It does not replace them with other blocks.

For a complete result, install every mod used by the original blueprint before importing it.

If you continue without the required mods, the unavailable portions of the build will remain empty.

Placement Safety

Blueprint Share is designed to avoid damaging existing builds.

Blueprints cannot overwrite occupied blocks.

Every destination chunk must be loaded.

Placements cannot extend beyond the world border or build-height limits.

Missing content must be reviewed before placement.

Block Entity data is validated before any blocks are placed.

Invalid or mismatched Block Entity data causes placement to be rejected.

Restricted block data is checked.

Placement is rejected when no compatible blocks are available.

If placement fails because of a collision, move the preview to an empty location and try again.

Undo and Back to Blueprint

After a blueprint is placed successfully, Blueprint Share provides clickable options and a numbered token in chat.

Select Undo to remove the recent placement.

You can also enter:

/blueprintundo <token>

Replace <token> with the number shown in the placement message.

Select Back to Blueprint if you want to remove the placement and reopen the same blueprint as a movable preview.

You can also enter:

/blueprintback <token>

Blueprint Share only removes blocks that still match the original placement. If a block was changed after placement, it is kept to prevent accidental damage.

The token helps ensure that the correct placement is modified.

Creative Mode and Permissions

Placing a blueprint requires either Creative mode or operator permission level 2 or higher.

This restriction exists because copied Block Entity data may contain inventories or items.

Players without the required permission can still receive, inspect, save, and share blueprint codes, but they cannot place them.

Installation

Install Minecraft 1.21.1.

Install NeoForge 21.1.243 or newer.

Place the Blueprint Share .jar file in the instance’s mods folder.

Launch the game.

For multiplayer, Blueprint Share must be installed on both the server and participating clients.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1

  • NeoForge 21.1.243 or newer

  • Blueprint Share installed on both sides for multiplayer

  • Creative mode or operator permission for placement

Blueprint Limits

A single blueprint may contain up to:

  • 100,000 copied blocks

  • 256 blocks along any individual dimension

  • 262,144 blocks of total selected volume

  • 8,192 unique palette entries

Share codes may contain up to 700,000 characters.

These limits protect clients and servers from excessively large or unsafe blueprint data.

Important Notes

Blueprint codes use the ESHARE1 format.

Codes may be too long to handle comfortably by hand. Use the built-in clipboard buttons whenever possible.

Modded blocks require their corresponding mods to be installed.

Missing blocks are skipped rather than substituted.

Blueprints never intentionally overwrite existing blocks.

Exported and imported blueprints are saved automatically in the local blueprint library.

Large blueprints may use a reduced-detail preview.

Active entities, assembled contraptions, trains, and moving physics vehicles are not included.

Create and Aeronautics contraptions must be disassembled or otherwise returned to block form before they can be shared.

Blueprint Share is released under the MIT License.
