Bloodhound

Lost your stuff in a creeper explosion? Forgot which chest has your diamonds? Ask your dog.

Bloodhound turns every tamed wolf into a tracker. Your dog sniffs the scent, then runs ahead and leads you to the spot, waiting for you whenever you fall behind.

🐾 Find your death spot

Sneak + right-click your dog with an empty hand. It sniffs around, picks up the scent of your last death and leads you back to your items.

💎 Find any item in your chests

Sneak + right-click your dog while holding an item (for example a diamond). It searches every chest, barrel and other container within 48 blocks and takes you to the nearest one that has it.

How it works

• The dog sniffs for a moment, then runs ahead and leaves a golden scent trail.
• If you fall behind, it stops, turns around and barks until you catch up.
• When it reaches the spot, it sits down and barks happily (hearts and sparkles).
• Sneak + right-click again to call off the search.
• If it can't reach the spot (for example your death spot is deep in a cave), it tells you the direction and distance: "about 120 blocks north-east, deep below you".

Good to know

• Works with the dogs you already have. No new items, no crafting.
• Your death spot must be in the same dimension as you and your dog, and no more than 3000 blocks away.
• Unopened loot chests (dungeons, temples and so on) are skipped, so it won't spoil your exploring.
• A normal right-click still makes your dog sit or stand, as in vanilla.
